NEW PLYMOUTH HARBOUR BREAKWATER.

Wellington, N.Z., 28th May, 1918.
THE New Plymouth Harbour Board have notified that boulders are now being deposited from dredge on the line of breakwater for a distance of about 1½ cables from breakwater end.
Masters of vessels are warned to keep at least 2 cables off the end of breakwater when making or leaving port.
The chimney of the Moturoa Freezing-works and that of the Oil-refinery Works in line bearing 193° (S. 3° E. mag.) lead 2 cables off the breakwater end.
Charts, &c., affected.—Admiralty Chart No. 2535; “New Zealand Pilot,” eighth edition, 1908, Chapter v, page 164; “New Zealand Nautical Almanac,” 1918, page 311, and plan facing page 310.

Public Service Classification and Superannuation Amendment Act, 1908.—Election of Member of Teachers’ Superannuation Board.

NOTICE is hereby given that an election will be held for the purpose of electing as a member of the Teachers’ Superannuation Board a person from among the contributors to the Teachers’ Superannuation Fund residing in the South Island (including Stewart and Chatham Islands), to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. William Davidson. And notice is further given that—
(1.) The said election will be held on Friday, the 19th day of July, 1918, at the offices of the Education Department, Wellington.
(2.) The poll will be closed at 5 o’clock p.m.
(3.) Nominations will close on Wednesday, the 19th day of June, 1918, at 5 o’clock p.m.
