NGARUAWAHIA TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE OVER THE NGARUA-WAHIA TOWN DISTRICT AS SECURITY FOR A LOAN OF £1,200 FOR THE NGARUAWAHIA TOWN BOARD’S PROPORTION OF THE COST OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE OVER THE WAIPA RIVER AT NGARUAWAHIA.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Town Boards Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and by sections 119 and 120 of the Public Works Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, and all other powers thereunto enabling, and by virtue of a Warrant dated the 27th day of February, 1918, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General under the provisions of the said section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908, and with the consent of the Governor-General in Council under section 26 of the Appropriation Act, 1915, as gazetted on page 766 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1918, the Ngaruawahia Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorized to be raised by the Ngaruawahia Town Board, by special order, under the authority of the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of paying the Board’s proportion of the cost of the construction of a bridge over the Waipa River at Ngaruawahia within and for the benefit of the Ngaruawahia Town District, the said Ngaruawahia Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property in the said Ngaruawahia Town District.

The area over which the said special rate is levied is the whole of the Ngaruawahia Town District.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, and the rate of interest to be paid at the rate of £4 10s. per centum per annum, together with an additional charge to provide the necessary sinking fund, or until the loan is fully paid off. It is the intention to pay out of the loan the first year’s interest and sinking fund.

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Ngaruawahia Town Board held at the office of the Board, Ngaruawahia, at 9 a.m. on the 24th day of April, 1918.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the DOMINION FURNITURE COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened, and held on the 30th April, 1918, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that the same be wound up accordingly. And at the same meeting EDWIN MARTELL SILK, of Wanganui, Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.
