Appointment of Customs Examining-place.

Customs Department,

I, ARTHUR M. MYERS, Minister of Customs, by virtue of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do hereby appoint the undermentioned place for the examination by the Customs of goods subject to the control of the Customs, viz.:

PORT OF WELLINGTON.

The building built of wood and corrugated iron, situated on the breastwork and fronting King's Wharf approach, and known as the “King's Wharf Store No. 3.”

Approval of Juvenile Probation Officers.

Establishment of Probation Home for Boys.

Education Department,
Wellington, 17th April, 1918.

BY virtue of the powers vested in me by section 10 of the Statute Law Amendment Act, 1917, I, Josiah Alfred Hanan, Minister of Education, do hereby declare the Boys' Probation Home, Christchurch (an industrial school within the meaning of the Industrial Schools Act, 1908), situated at 300 Stanmore Road, Linwood, Christchurch, to be a probation home for children, and have approved of ALEXANDER BISSET, a juvenile probation officer, as officer in charge of the Home.

Establishment of Government Industrial School.

Education Department,
Wellington, 17th April, 1918.

BY virtue of the powers vested in me by sections 4 and 12 of the Industrial Schools Act, 1908, I, Josiah Alfred Hanan, Minister of Education, do hereby notify that I have established at 300 Stanmore Road, Linwood, Christchurch, a Government Industrial School, under the name of the Boys' Probation Home, Christchurch.

Public School established at Cook Islands.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf by section 51 of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, I, Maui Pomare, the Minister for the Cook Islands, do hereby establish a school in the Settlement of Avarua, in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, to be known as the Avarua School, as a public school under the said Act.

As witness my hand this 19th day of April, 1918.
