THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Cook County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for metalling about five miles of Gisborne-Wairoa Road from Waerengaokuri to Harris’s corner, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eleventh of a penny in the £1 upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Patutahi-Hangaroa Special Rating District, comprising Sections 92, 97, 99, 102, 103, 104, 107, 109, 110, 111, 112, 114, 115, 116, 117, part of Section 118 (500 acres), and Section 128 of Blocks II, V, VI, VII, Patutahi Survey District, and the whole of Hangaroa Riding except Okahuatiu No. 2 (Murphy’s), Subdivision No. 1 of Okahuatiu No. 2 (Williamson’s), and Subdivision No. 1 of Okahuatiu No. 2A (Monckton’s). And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest not to exceed 5½ per cent.

I, PERCY HENRY UPTON, Manager of the Guardian, Trust, and Executors Company of New Zealand (Limited) do solemnly and sincerely declare—
- That the liability of the members is limited.
- That the capital of the company is £100,000, divided into 20,000 shares of £5 each.
- That the number of shares issued is 20,000.
- That calls to the amount of three pounds (£3) per share on 2,500 shares, and three shillings (3s.) per share on 17,500 shares, have been made, under which the sum of £10,125 has been received.
- That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates on the 1st day of January last is £163,859 7s. 1d.
- That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates on that day is £152,065 16s. 9d.
- That the amount of the balances due to estates under administration on that day is £1,793 10s. 4d.
- That the liabilities of the company as on the 1st day of January last were nil.
- That the contingent liabilities of the company on deposits on the 1st day of January last were nil.
- That the assets of the company on that day were £13,428 2s. 4d.
- That the first annual license was issued on the 10th day of March, 1911.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

HELENSVILLE TOWN BOARD.
IN terms of section 35 of the Town Boards Act, 1908, and its amendments thereto, the Helensville Town Board hereby levy a special rate of one-fifth of a penny (¼d.) in the one pound on all rateable property on the valuation roll for the Helensville Town District at 12th December, 1917,
for the purpose of providing security for the payment of interest and sinking fund on a loan of £1,400 it is proposed to raise to pay the Board’s share of cost of reconstructing bridge over the Kaipara River.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the PORT CHALMERS GAS COMPANY (LIMITED).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at the Sailors’ Rest, George Street, Port Chalmers, on the 27th day of March, 1918, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that Mr. H. H. SYKES be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the creditors of the above-named company are required, on or before the 29th day of April, 1918, to send their names and addresses, and the particulars of their debts or claims, and the names and addresses of their solicitors, if any, to H. SYKES, of 56 Stuart Street, Dunedin, the Liquidator of the said company; and, if so required by notice in writing from the said Liquidator, are by their solicitors to come in and prove their said debts or claims at such time and place as shall be specified in such notice, or in default thereof they will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Beaumont Jockey Club at a meeting held on the 9th day of February, 1918, at Beaumont, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. J. Sheehy, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. J. Sheehy, the Chairman of the Club and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. D. McLelland seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to :—
BEAUMONT JOCKEY CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1918, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, and with the approval of the Governor-General, the Beaumont Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), oth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the club’s property situate in the District of Otago, and known as the Beaumont Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.
- In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.
- The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely,—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference or New Zealand Trotting Conference.
