IN pursuance of the authority conferred upon me by an Order in Council on the third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, in pursuance of section two of the Post and Telegraph Amendment Act, 1910, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in the present state of war, do hereby authorize and appoint
WYNNE JOHNSON PATERSON,
of Auckland, to act during my pleasure as an Assistant Censor of Telegraphic Messages in respect of the telegraph stations at or near Auckland.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section will be offered for sale at auction for cash, under the provisions of section 132 of the Land Act, 1908, at this office on Thursday, the 23rd day of May, 1918, at 2.30 o’clock p.m.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—RURAL LAND.
Wallace County.—Wairio Survey District.
SECTION 189, Block XIV: Area, 2 acres; upset price, £10. Good arable level land, mostly covered with gorse, adjacent to Woodlaw Railway-station.
CONDITIONS OF SALE.
One-fifth of the purchase-money to be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter. Otherwise the part of the purchase-money paid by way of deposit shall be forfeited, and the contract for the sale of the land be null and void. Title will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1909.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for sale or lease under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 22nd day of May, 1918.
The land may be selected for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for thirty-three years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-three years, and a right to acquire the freehold.
Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Thursday, 23rd May, 1918, at 10 o’clock a.m.
The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SECTION 14, Block XI: Area, 293 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £2,014 10s. 1d. Deferred-payment instalment (excluding interest), £100 14s. 6d. Half-yearly rent on lease, £45 6s. 9d.
Weighted with £245 14s., valuation for dwelling, byre, fencing, &c.
Situated immediately opposite Orawia Post-office and store, half a mile from dairy factory, and one mile and a half from school. Whole area capable of cultivation, and is suitable for sheep and agricultural farming. 125 chains frontage to good gravelled road, and 36 chains to unformed road. Permanently watered by Fenham Stream. About ten miles by a good gravelled road to Tuatapere Railway-station, and about one mile and a half to nearest point of proposed, and partly formed, Orawia section of the Ōrepuki-Orawia Railway.

Undulating land; good soil, on clay subsoil; mostly covered with small trees and scrub; well watered; suitable for dairying or cropping when cleared. Situated within one mile and three-quarters of Titiroa Railway-station—one mile and a half good gravelled road, balance unformed but good dray-track.
Sections part 24A and 31, Block IX: Area, 167 acres 0 roods 12 perches. Capital value, £250. Instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £12 10s. Half-yearly rent on lease, £5 12s. 6d.
Worked-out bush country; well watered, soil fair; when cleared, suitable for grazing and dairying. Fifty chains from Pukewao Railway-siding by uncleared road, and four miles and a half of good gravel road and half a mile unformed road to Tokonui Railway-station.
Section 16, Block X: Area, 219 acres 2 roods 15 perches. Capital value, £550. Instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £27 10s. Half-yearly rent on lease, £12 7s. 6d.
Worked-out bush country; soilgood, well watered; suitable for cultivation and dairying when cleared. Situated three miles and a quarter from Tokonui Railway-station—two miles and a half being good gravelled road, balance formed.
