RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Northern Wairoa Racing Club at a meeting held on the 7th day of December, 1917, at Dargaville, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. Dargaville, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. F. J. Dargaville, the Chairman of the Club and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. W. B. Giesen seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:—
NORTHERN WAIROA RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908).
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Northern Wairoa Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the reserve situate at Awakino, Dargaville, set apart for racing purposes, and known as Awakino Racecourse, as the same is described in the Gaming Act, 1910, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the part of the said Awakino Reserve while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely,—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
The foregoing regulations of the Northern Wairoa Racing Club were made and passed by the members of the said club on the 7th day of December, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Native Land Act, 1909.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Raglan County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute certain public works—namely, the acquisition of land and the construction of a road through Waipa No. 66B No. 3D; and for the purposes of such public works the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said parcels of land required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate at Ngaruawahia, and is open for inspection (without any fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of the said parcels of land, who may have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said parcels of land, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Clerk of the said county at the County Offices at Ngaruawahia.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of land required to be taken: 16 acres 1 rood 31 perches.
Being portion of block of land called Waipa No. 66B No. 3D.
Coloured on plan: Red.
Purposes for which required: Road.

KAITIEKE COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE AT AN ORDINARY MEETING HELD ON THE 6TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1917.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kaitieke County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500, authorized to be raised by the Kaitieke County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of reforming and metalling portions of the Wanganui Valley Road, the said Kaitieke County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and three-eighths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Hunua Special Rating Area, comprising Sections 1 to 4 inclusive, Block I; Sections 6 to 32 inclusive, said Block I; Sections 3, 4, and 5, Tapui Village Settlement, said Block I; Wanganui River Trust Reserve Sections A, B, C, D, and E, said Block I; Sections 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 5, 6, 7, 8A, 9, 11, 12, and 13, Block II; Sections A, B, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block IV; and Section 6A, Block V; being the rateable properties within the following boundaries:—
Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 7, Block IV, and running along its western boundary to the southern boundary of the Makokomiko Road; thence generally along the southern boundary of such road and the western boundary of the Wanganui River Road to the southern corner of Section B, Block IV; thence along the south-western boundary of such Section B to the Wanganui River; thence by such river in the direction of its source to the north-eastern corner of Section 5, Block II; thence generally in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of such Section 5 to the south-western corner of Section 3, Block II; thence along the southern boundaries of such Section 3 and Section 2, Block II, to the western boundary of Section 8, Block II; thence along the western boundaries of said Section 8 and Sections 30 and 18, Block II, to the south-eastern corner of Section 12, Block II; thence along the southern boundary of Section 12 aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of Section 5A, Block II; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of such Section 5A to the north-eastern corner of Section 6A, Waimarino Native Reserve; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of such Section 6A to the north-western corner of Section 20, Crown lands; thence along the western boundaries of such Section 20 and Section 1, Block V, to the northern boundary of Section 23, Block IX; thence along the northern boundaries of such Section 23 and Sections 24 and 25, Block IX, and Section 11, Block IV, to the commencing-point: all the land above mentioned being in the Hunua Survey District.
