NOTICE is hereby given that the leases and licenses
of the undermentioned lands having been declared
forfeited by resolution of the Auckland Land Board, the
said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown, under the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

- Land in Wellington Land District for Sale or Lease to
Discharged Soldiers.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 14th January, 1918.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands
are open for sale or lease under the Discharged
Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder;
and applications will be received at the District Lands and
Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday,
the 26th February, 1918.
The lands may be selected for cash or on deferred pay-
ments, or selected on lease for thirty-three years, with right
of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-three years,
and a right to acquire the freehold.
Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board
for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Thursday, 28th February,
1918.
The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination
of applicants.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—HOROWHENUA COUNTY.—
KAITAWA SURVEY DISTRICT.—PUKENAMU SETTLEMENT.
First-class Land.
SECTION 1s: Area, 73 acres 1 rood 6 perches. Capital value,
£3,190. Annual instalment on deferred payment (exclusive
of interest), £159 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent,
£71 15s. 6d.
Section 2s: Area, 73 acres 1 rood 9 perches. Capital value,
£3,120. Annual instalment on deferred payment (exclusive
of interest), £156. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent,
£70 4s.
Section 3s: Area, 75 acres 0 roods 24 perches. Capital
value, £3,045. Annual instalment on deferred payment
(exclusive of interest), £152 5s. Renewable lease: Half-
yearly rent, £68 10s. 3d.
The Pukenuamu Settlement is situated in Block II, Kaitawa
Survey District, in the Horowhenua County, is about one
mile from Te Horo Railway-station, on the North Island,
Main Trunk Railway, by a good metalled road, and about
five miles from Otaki Township.
The settlement comprises about 221¾ acres, and is sub-
divided into three sections of 73¼, 73¼, and 75¼ acres. The
land consists of about 146 acres of good swamp land, and
about 76 acres of sandy downs, each section having its share
of both classes.
At Te Horo there is a cheese-factory, post-office, and store,
the cheese-factory being about three-quarters of a mile from
the settlement.
The land is very suitable for dairying, fattening, or grazing,
and owing to the fine climate of the district dairying can be
carried on all the year round.

described in the Schedule hereto will be offered for
lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey
Office, Christchurch, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Tuesday, 26th
February, 1918, under the provisions of the Education
Reserves Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Bodies’
Act, 1908.
