Notice respecting Proposed Town District, Nightcaps, County
of Wallace.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented
to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the
Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in
the Schedule hereto may be constituted a town district under
the said Act, by name the Town District of Nightcaps. All
persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written
objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said
town district which they desire to lodge, within one month
from the first publication of this notice, such objections or
petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED TOWN DISTRICT
OF NIGHTCAPS.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District bounded by
line commencing at the south-western corner of Block III,
Village of Morley; thence easterly along the southern bound-
ary of that block and Block I of said village to the Wairio
Stream; thence northerly along the right bank of that stream
to the Nightcaps Road at the north-eastern corner of the
said Block I; thence along the southern side of that road
to Leithen Street; thence south-easterly along the south-
western side of that street to Block X, Town of Nightcaps;
thence south-westerly to the westernmost corner of Block X
aforesaid; thence south-easterly to the south-western corner
of said Block X; thence north-easterly along the south-
east boundary of Nightcaps Town, and that line continued
to the south-west boundary of church-site; thence south-
easterly along the south-western boundary of church-site
aforesaid to the Waicola Stream; thence north-westerly
along the said stream to the north-eastern side of the Night-
caps—Wrey’s Bush Road; thence north-westerly along said
road to the pound-site (a distance of about 420 links); thence
northerly along the eastern boundary of said pound-site
for a distance of 220 links, and that line continued to the
north-western side of the Nightcaps—Beaumont Road; thence
south-westerly along said road to the Nightcaps—Wrey’s
Bush Road aforesaid; thence north-westerly along the
northern side of the last-mentioned road for a distance of
about 463 links to the eastern boundary of the Nightcaps
Coal Company’s property; thence due north along said
boundary for a distance of 6780 links; thence due west for
a distance of 3133·3 links; thence bearing 198° 26′, distance
1264·9 links: thence due west for a distance of 2759 links
to the Wairio Stream; thence south-easterly along the left
bank of the said stream to a point in line with the north
boundary of Block VII, Morley Village aforesaid; thence
westerly to and along the said boundary to the north-west
corner of Block VII aforesaid; thence southerly along the
western boundary of Blocks VII and III, Village of Morley
aforesaid, to the point of commencement.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is
the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Glen-Massey
Special Rating District, taken on the 6th day of December,
1917, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £1,300 for the
purpose of forming and metalling certain roads at Glen-
Massey.
Total number of valid votes recorded, 25: For the pro-
posal, 24; against the proposal, 1.
As the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the
proposal is more than three-fifths of the total number of valid
votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.
