Partial Revocation of an Order in Council under Section 291 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this thirtieth day of January, 1918.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two hundred and ninety-six of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any Order in Council made under Part XVI of that Act, or under Part II of the Native Land Settlement Act, 1907, may be at any time revoked, either wholly or as to any part or parts of the land included therein, by the Governor-General by Order in Council:

And whereas the block or parcel of land known as Nuhaka 2A 4M became subject, by virtue of an Order in Council dated the eighteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eight, to the provisions of Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909:

And whereas the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board has recommended that such land be no longer subject to Part XVI aforesaid:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council dated the eighteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eight, in so far as such Order in Council affects Nuhaka 2A 4M.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Auckland.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the Auckland Acclimatization District, comprising the Counties of Rodney, Waitemata, Eden, Manukau, Franklin, Thames, Ohinemuri, Piako, Raglan, Waikato, Waipa, Kawhia, Awakino, Waitomo, and Ohura, and that part of each of the Counties of Matamata and West Taupo lying north of a right line extending south-westerly from the summit of Puwhenua Mountain, at the easternmost corner of Matamata County, to the summit of Rangitoto Mountain, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS.

  1. FALLOW-deer bucks may be taken or killed within the Auckland Acclimatization District from the 14th day of March, 1918, to the 31st day of May, 1918, both days inclusive.

  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Auckland, and the Postmasters at Cambridge, Hamilton, Matamata, Morrinsville, Walton, Te Aroha, Thames, Paeroa, and Helensville, on payment of a license fee of £1, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations. The number of such licenses shall not exceed thirty; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than five bucks, and no buck shall be killed carrying antlers with less than four points.

  4. No doe or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  6. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Nelson.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the Nelson Acclimatization District, comprising the Counties of Waimea, Takaka, and Collingwood, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS.

  1. RED-DEER stags and fallow-deer bucks may be taken or killed within the Nelson Acclimatization District from the 1st day of March, 1918, to the 30th day of April, 1918, both days inclusive.

  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Nelson, and the Postmaster at Motueka, on payment of a license fee of £1 1s., in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than six deer in all, whether red-deer stags or fallow-deer bucks; and no red-deer stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than four points, and no fallow-deer buck carrying antlers with less than four points.

  4. No doe, hind, or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  6. Regulations as to deer “tags,” per New Zealand Gazette No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, page 1408, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the secretary of the Nelson Acclimatization Society, Nelson, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

  7. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.
