Land proclaimed as a Road in Opaha Survey District, Canterbury Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
I N pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the lessee and mortgagee of the land described in the Schedule hereto, and of the Mackenzie County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land described in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road :
4 acres 2 roods 21 perches.
Portion of Section 4A, Sherwood Downs Settlement, Block III, Opaha Survey District.
In the Canterbury Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 19422, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies ; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eleventh day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Settlement Land set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
I N pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—BRUCE NO. 2 SETTLEMENT.
SECTIONS 2 and 5, Block III, Port Nicholson Survey District :
Area, 204 acres.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the Paeroa-Pokeno Railway (from 17 Miles 79 Chains to 22 Miles).

A PROCLAMATION.
W HEREAS an extension of the Paeroa-Pokeno Railway, from the end of the line in Block XI, Waihou Survey District (as authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1915), to Pokeno (hereinafter termed “the said railway”), is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Finance Act, 1918 (No. 2) :
And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain the portion of the said railway described in the Schedule hereto :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the eastern boundary of Section 1, Block III, Piako Survey District, marked 17 miles 79 chains, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction for a distance of about 4 miles 1 chain, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c., viz. :
Section 1, Waitakaruru No. 1c Section 3G No. 3, 1B No. 2, Ngarewha Block ; Crown land, Block III, Piako Survey District ; Section 29, Block VII, Piako Survey District ; Crown land, Block III, Piako Survey District ; Crown land, Blocks III and II, Section 28, Block VII, Crown land, Quarry Reserve, Block II, Sections 69A, 68, and 26, Maramarua Parish ; Block VI, Piako Survey District ; and terminating at a point in the said Section 26 marked 22 miles : including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses.
All in the Auckland Land District ; as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45338, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District. (S.O. 19978.)

Declaring Land taken for a Public Work, and not required for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
W HEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor-General may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein mentioned :
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work and not required for that purpose the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon the land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly :
