Declaring Crown Lands in the Pukipuhi Mining District,
Auckland Land District, open for Disposal on Renewable
Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three of
the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-
General, by Proclamation, may from time to time declare any
Crown lands within any mining district not held under lease
or license, or for which a lease or license has been cancelled,
to be open for disposal, as provided in section one hundred
and thirty-five of the said Act :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred upon
me by section one hundred and thirty-three of the said Act,
and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
sections of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open
on Tuesday, the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand
nine hundred and nineteen, for disposal on renewable lease, as
provided in section one hundred and thirty-five of the said
Act.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Pukipuhi Mining District.—Bay of Islands County.—Block
XVI, Kawakawa Survey District.

SECTIONS 46 and 48 : Area, 19 acres 1 rood 4 perches ; capital
value, £40 ; half-yearly rent, 16s.

Section 47 : Area, 6 acres 0 roods 29 perches ; capital
value, £15 ; half-yearly rent, 6s.

Altitude, 60 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. Undulating
manuka country which has been dug over for gum. Soil poor
c lay, on sandstone formation ; suitable for orchard ; no
water on sections. Distant about half a mile from Kawakawa
Railway-station by formed road.

Section 49 : Area, 11 acres 3 roods 17 perches ; capital
value, £15 ; half-yearly rent, 6s.

Section 52 : Area, 10 acres 2 roods 6 perches ; capital
value, £15 ; half-yearly rent, 6s.

Section 53 : Area, 14 acres 2 roods 21 perches ; capital
value, £25 ; half-yearly rent, 10s.

Altitude, 100 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to
broken fern and manuka country. Soil poor clay, on sand-
stone ; no water on sections. Distant from three-quarters
of a mile to one mile from Kawakawa Railway-station by
formed road.

Section 54 : Area, 18 acres 0 roods 2 perches ; capital
value, £30 ; half-yearly rent, 12s.

Section 56 : Area, 16 acres 1 rood 30 perches ; capital
value, £25 ; half-yearly rent, 10s.

Section 58 : Area, 13 acres 3 roods 26 perches ; capital
value, £15 ; half-yearly rent, 6s.

Section 59 : Area, 14 acres 2 roods 18 perches ; capital
value, £15 ; half-yearly rent, 6s.

Section 60 : Area, 10 acres 2 roods 22 perches ; capital
value, £15 ; half-yearly rent, 6s.

Section 61 : Area, 13 acres 3 roods 33 perches ; capital
value, £15 ; half-yearly rent, 6s.

Altitude, 50 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. Fern and
manuka country, all easy slopes, except Section 54, which is
broken. Soil poor clay, on sandstone. Sections 56, 59, 61,
and 64 have no water, remaining sections indifferently watered
by small swamps. Distant from one mile to one mile and
three-quarters from Kawakawa Railway-station by formed
road.
