LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.

EVIDENCE of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. 46, folio 99, of the Register-book, in favour of WILLIAM LOVATT, of Cambridge, Builder, for Section 131, Town of Cambridge West, having been lodged with me, and application made to issue a provisional certificate of title, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue a provisional certificate of title accordingly at the expiration of fourteen days from the 5th December, 1918.

APPLICATION having been made to me for the issue of a provisional certificate of title, in the name of WILLIAM JONES, of Pahautanui, Farmer, for Lot 12 on deposited plan No. 409, of part of Sections 840 and 842, City of Wellington, being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 69, folio 45, and evidence having been lodged of the loss or destruction of the said certificate of title, I hereby give notice that I will issue the provisional certificate of title, as requested, on the 19th day of December, 1918.

APPLICATION having been made to me to register a discharge of Mortgage No. 70074, whereof the registered mortgagee is JOHN STRANG, of Gladstone, Sheep-farmer, and also a partial surrender of Lease No. 4793, the registered lessee whereof is JESSIE COLINA STRANG, of Gladstone, Spinster, affecting part of Subdivisions 1 and 2 of Hinana No. 1B Block, being the balance of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 125, folio 237 (and certificates of title, Vol. 125, folios 235 and 236 as to the said discharge of mortgage), and evidence having been lodged of the loss or destruction of the said mortgage and lease, I hereby give notice that I will dispense with the production of the said mortgage and lease, and register the discharge and surrender, as requested, on the 19th day of December, 1918.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook and Waikohu County Councils propose, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the formation and construction of a public road through the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto; and for that purpose the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited at the offices of Messieurs Kirk, Burnard, and Sievwright, situate in Gladstone Road, Gisborne, and are open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the taking of the said lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers at Te Karaka aforesaid.

WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of twelve hundred pounds (£1,200), authorized to be raised by the said Council, under the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, for the purpose of paying the Council’s proportion of capital expenditure of the Wairoa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, the said Wairoa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one one-hundredth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Wairoa; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wairoa County Council held on Friday, the 8th day of November, 1918.

KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kirikiriroa Road Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorized to be raised by the Kirikiriroa Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing land for roads, and constructing and forming roads, and metalling and sanding roads for the first time, in the Horsham Downs Special Rating Area as hereinafter defined, the Kirikiriroa Road Board hereby makes
