Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal to Captain John Godfrey Cook, Unattached List (b), he having a total service to the 10th October, 1918, entitling him thereto, of twenty years one hundred and fifty-three days.

THE following special order, made by the Manukau County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913.

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 31 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Manukau County Council, on the petition of a majority of the ratepayers of the Papakura Road District, resolves by way of special order that the said Papakura Road District be merged in the County of Manukau, and the Board thereof dissolved.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Manukau was hereunto affixed this 31st day of October, 1918, in the presence of—

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Borough of South Invercargill, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF SOUTH INVERCARGILL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of a special area of the Middle Ward of the Borough of South Invercargill taken on 30th October, 1918, on the proposal to borrow by way of a special loan £5,900 for the purpose of public works within that area, the following was the result of the voting: For the proposal, 91; against the proposal, 26; majority for, 65.
I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of a special area of the North Ward of the Borough of South Invercargill taken on the 30th day of October, 1918, on the proposal to borrow by way of a special loan £3,900 for the purpose of public works within that area, the following was the result of the voting: For the proposal, 57; against the proposal, 22; majority for, 35; informal, 1.
I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

PICTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
IN pursuance of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give public notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Picton taken on the 29th day of October, 1918, upon the proposal to raise a loan of £800 for the purpose of procuring a stone-crusher, motor, and motor-lorry for the Borough of Picton, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 69, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 28; informal, 5.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
IN pursuance of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Picton taken on the 29th day of October, 1918, upon the proposal to raise a loan of £2,200 for the purpose of extending and providing machinery and buildings for electrical purposes for the residents of the borough, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 81, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 17; informal 4.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Kaitangata, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

KAITANGATA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers was taken at the Council Chambers, Kaitangata, on the 30th day of October, 1918, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., on a proposal to raise a special loan of £650 (six hundred and fifty pounds), under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of making a culvert to act as a bridge and flood-lock in the Kaitangata Creek.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 49, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 14.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
