Special Powers conferred on District Health Officers under the Public Health Act.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 18 of the Public Health Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby confer upon all District Health Officers under that Act power and authority, with the approval of the Minister of Public Health, to close all or any hotel bars, bars of chartered clubs, or other places within their several districts respectively, for the purpose of more effectively checking or preventing the spread of influenza: Provided that nothing in this Warrant shall be so construed as to limit or restrict the authority conferred on the several District Health Officers of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin by Warrants issued under the Public Health Act, 1908, and dated respectively the sixth day of November, 1918.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this thirteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.
