Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 31st October, 1918.
THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Waitomo, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on a Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto, I hereby notify that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of Waitomo County taken on Wednesday, the 26th day of June, 1918, on a proposal to borrow a sum of £5,000 to purchase a road roller and scarifier, portable crusher, motor-lorries, and other machinery required by the Waitomo County Council from time to time :—
Number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 312 ; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 447 ; informal, 14 : total, 773.
As the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal did not exceed the three-fifths majority of valid votes recorded at the poll, I therefore declare the proposal lost.

Notice of Result of Poll on a Proposal to raise Loans and levy a Bridge Rate.
Result of a poll of ratepayers of the Waitomo County Council taken on Wednesday, 26th day of June, 1918, on a proposal to raise special loans as follows :—

To reconstruct bridges on roads under the jurisdiction of the Waitomo County Council.

To borrow for such purposes, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, amounts that may from time to time be required.

To pledge as security for repayment of such loans, together with interest thereon, a special annual-recurring rate over the whole of the County of Waitomo, to be called the “Waitomo Bridge Rate,” such rate not to exceed in any one year the amount of one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property within the Waitomo County.

The cost of raising the loans, and the first year’s interest and principal thereon, shall be paid out of the moneys so raised.
Number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 458 ; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 302 ; informal, 13 : total, 773.
As the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal exceeds three-fifths of the valid votes recorded at the poll, I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Notice of Result of a Poll on a Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto, I hereby notify that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of Paemako and Aria Ridings, within the Waitomo County, taken on Wednesday, 26th June, 1918, on a proposal to borrow a sum of £500 for the purpose of paying the cost of taking a road, under the Public Works Act, through the Kinohaku East 4B, Section 1, from a point on the Piopio-Aria Road to a point opposite the saleyards on the Piopio-Mahoenui Road, a distance of about fifteen chains, such cost to include survey fees, fencing, compensation, forming, and bridging :—
Number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 85 ; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 169 ; informal, 3 : total, 257.
As the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal did not exceed the three-fifths majority of valid votes recorded at the poll, I therefore declare the proposal lost.

Exportation of Neatsfoot Oil.
Customs Department,
Wellington, 5th November, 1918.
IT is notified for general information that particulars obtained by the Government indicate that there is available for exportation a quantity of neatsfoot oil amounting to approximately 4,000 gallons.
Applications for permission to export such oil to British or Allied destinations will accordingly be considered if received by the Comptroller of Customs, Wellington, not later than the 30th instant.
Applications should, if possible, state the name of the exporting ship and of the proposed consignee.
Applicants to whom permits for the exportation of neatsfoot oil were issued in October last must state the quantity of such oil which will not have been shipped on the 30th instant.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance of the regulations relating to the management of soldiers’ properties made on the 2nd April, 1917, under the War Regulations Act, 1914, and its amendments, the Minister of Defence has constituted and appointed the following Soldiers’ Property Boards of Trustees, namely :—
