Captain W. Ward to be Major, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 36, with pay and allowances for rank of Major from date of promotion. Dated 26th March, 1918.
Major J. L. Saunders, D.S.O., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst employed as O.C. a transport. Dated 14th August, 1918.
Major J. McCrae, D.S.O., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while commanding 3rd (Reserve) Battalion, vice Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) G. S. Smith, C.M.G., D.S.O., appointed Second in Command, 4th N.Z. Infantry (Reserve) Brigade. Dated 14th August, 1918.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) R. D. Douglass relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain on ceasing to command a company of 3rd (Reserve) Battalion. Dated 8th July, 1918.
With reference to the notification published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 120, of 5th September, 1918, relating to Lieutenant F. J. R. Earl, M.C., to be Captain, for the words “15th May, 1918,” read “28th February, 1918.”
Memorandum.
Captain J. P. Hewat performed the duties of Second in Command, 3rd (Reserve) Battalion, from 28th May, 1918, to 26th June, 1918, vice Major J. McCrae, D.S.O., temporarily commanding N.Z. Isolation Camp, Larkhill.
