Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers on Active Service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, and transfers of the undermentioned officers on active service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, vide List No. 72, N.Z.E.F. Orders.

AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant H. K. Hatrick, returning to squadron duties, relinquishes the appointment of Signalling Officer. Dated 14th June, 1918.

Lieutenant W. Austin to be Signalling Officer, vice Lieutenant H. K. Hatrick. Dated 11th July, 1918.

Memorandum.

Major D. Munro performed the duties of Second in Command of the regiment, vice Major H. S. Whitehorn, from 4th May, 1918, to 6th June, 1918.

CANTERBURY MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant G. J. H. Reid to be Adjutant, vice Captain H. B. Hinson, N.Z.S.C., killed in action, and is granted the acting rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 30th March, 1918.

Captain J. S. Barker performed the duties of Adjutant, vice Lieutenant (Acting Captain) G. J. H. Reid, from 30th May, 1918, to 26th June, 1918, inclusive.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) J. Findlay, C.B., D.S.O., relinquishes the temporary rank of Colonel on resumption of command of the N.Z.M.R. Brigade by Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier-General) W. Meldrum, C.M.G., D.S.O. Dated 28th June, 1918.

Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) P. M. Acton-Adams, D.S.O., relinquishes the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on resumption of command of the regiment by Lieutenant-Colonel J. Findlay, C.B., D.S.O. Dated 28th June, 1918.

WELLINGTON MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier-General) W. Meldrum, C.M.G., D.S.O., rejoined from hospital, resumes command of the N.Z.M.R. Brigade. Dated 28th June, 1918.

Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) C. G. Powles, C.M.G., D.S.O., N.Z.S.C., relinquished the appointment of A.A. and Q.M.G., A. and N.Z. Mounted Division, remains seconded for duty with a British formation, and retains the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 23rd June, 1918.

N.Z. CAMEL CORPS.

Lieutenant R. F. Mackenzie, M.C., is granted the temporary rank of Captain while commanding a camel company, vice Captain G. F. Yerex. Dated 12th July, 1918.

N.Z. CYCLIST CORPS.

2nd Lieutenant E. H. Blomfield is transferred from Otago Regiment, with seniority from 25th April, 1917. Dated 14th May, 1918.

Lieutenant W. L. C. McLean is placed on the N.Z. Roll. Dated 8th August, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant L. T. Wylic, having been declared by a Medical Board to be unfit for general service within twelve months, is seconded, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 34. Dated 30th July, 1918.

Lieutenant (Acting Captain) G. Clark-Walker relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant and the acting rank of Captain. Dated 5th July, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant T. H. Dickinson to be Adjutant, vice Lieutenant G. Clark-Walker, and is granted the acting rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 5th July, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant E. H. Blomfield to be Lieutenant, with seniority next before Lieutenant D. G. Cody. Dated 21st May, 1918.

Lieutenant H. C. J. Knubley is granted the temporary rank of Captain, vice Captain G. L. Comer, to England on duty. Dated 7th August, 1918.

N.Z. FIELD ARTILLERY.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants are placed on the N.Z. Roll. Dated 8th August, 1918:—

Captain R. A. Hogan is seconded, under provisions of N.Z. E.F. Regulation 34 (to date from 5th August, 1918), and is placed on the N.Z. Roll. Dated 8th August, 1918.

Lieutenant W. Ivory, R.N.Z.A., is seconded whilst attending a course in ordnance duties. Dated 2nd August, 1918.
