Awards of Long-service and Good-conduct Medal.

THIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve, in accordance with paragraph 14, Appendix IX, Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces,
1913, of the award of the Long-service and Good-conduct
Medal to the undermentioned members of the Royal New
Zealand Artillery :—
No. 908, Corporal Albert James Sutton.
No. 920, Corporal Patrick McIlveney.
No. 909, Bombardier Henry Cox.
No. 917, Bombardier James Porter Gerrard.
No. 919, Driver Frederick Albert Neighbour.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks IX and XIII,
Tuhua Survey District.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road
in Blocks IX and XIII, Tuhua Survey District; and
for the purposes of such public work the land described in
the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required
to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Taringamotu,
and is there open for inspection; and that all persons
affected by the execution of the said public work or by the
taking of the said land should, if they have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public
work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in
writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public
Works at Wellington.

coloured as above mentioned.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block II, Takapau Survey
District, for the Purposes of a Native School.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a Native
School in Block II, Takapau Survey District; and for the
purposes of such public work the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required
to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Waiotapu, and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking of
the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objec-
tions to the execution of the said public work or to the taking
of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

The Sharebrokers Act, 1908.--Amendments to Rules and New
Rule of the Wellington Stock Exchange.

WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.
AMENDMENTS AND ADDITIONS TO RULES.
Commission.
RULE 66 amended to read as follows :—
66. The brokerage chargeable for buying or selling shares
in all companies, and debentures and stock, shall be as
follows :—
On New Zealand Government debentures ¼ per cent. on
face value.
On all other Government and local body ½ ditto.

On all other debentures . . . . . . 1 ,,
On shares other than mining . . . . 1½ per cent.
On mining shares up to 6d. . . . ¼d. per share.
,, over 6d. up to 2s. . . ½d. ,, ,, over 2s. up to 3s. 4d. 1d. ,, ,, over 3s. 4d. up to 10s. 1½d. ,, ,, over 10s. . . . . . 1¼ per cent.
On syndicate shares . . . . . . 2½ ,,
Minimum charge, 5s. on any transaction ; buyers paying
stamp duty and transfer fees. The above rates in respect
of sales of shares and of debentures already issued are in all
cases chargeable to both buyer and seller.
On mining transactions both buyer and seller pay stamp
duty.
A special charge in excess of the above rates may be made
according to the circumstances of the case for the negotiation
of new flotations and of issues of new or reserve shares, in
which case the vendor or issuing company alone is to be
charged, or of shares or securities not on the official list, or
of New Zealand Government land-purchase bonds.
A double selling and a single buying commission shall be
charged on sales of shares of all New Zealand companies not
listed on any New Zealand Exchange.
Rule 82 amended to read as follows :—
82. The list of quotations of prices and of purchases and
sales effected and reported at the daily meetings of the
Exchange shall be the official list of the Exchange. The
Exchange shall also issue a monthly share-list, of which each
member is entitled to twenty-five copies free of charge. No
member of this Exchange shall be permitted to issue a "Share
List," " List of Sales," " Prices Current," " Trade Circular" (in reference to shares) or " General Report."
NEW RULE.
66A. That no lower rates other than those fixed in these
rules shall be charged, and it shall not be allowable under
any circumstances whatever to pay agents or other persons
not members of an affiliated Exchange a remuneration of any
kind for introducing business except in respect of applications
for shares in new companies or for increase in capital in
existing companies.
