NOTICE is hereby given that the license of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Taranaki Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Land in the Marlborough Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Blenheim, 22nd October, 1918.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for sale or lease under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 9th December, 1918.
The lands may be selected for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for sixty-six years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of sixty-six years and a right to acquire the freehold.
Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Tuesday, 10th December, 1918, at 10 o’clock a.m.
The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Marlborough County.—Wakamarina Survey District.
Section 8, Block V: Area, 355 acres; capital value, £1,195; instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £59 15s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £26 17s. 9d.
Distant about two miles and a quarter from Flat Creek Post-office and dairy factory. Access is by a good metalled road for about one mile and a half, unformed road three-quarters of a mile. Section is well watered. Altitude varies from 200 ft. on the front to about 1,800 ft. at the back. Section contains about 75 acres of good flat and undulating country, mostly ploughable, and partly cleared and grassed. The balance is in mixed bush consisting of tawa, rimu, birch, and hinau, from which the milling-timber has been removed. Section contains good homestead-site.

Pastoral Run in Canterbury Land District for Lease to Discharged Soldiers,

Christchurch, 22nd October, 1918.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run is open for license by discharged soldiers under Part VI of the Land Act, 1908, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915. Applications will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 3rd December, 1918. Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board, for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 5th December, 1918, at 11 a.m. The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Waipara County.—Katrine and Noble Survey Districts.
RUN 142B: Area, 18,077 acres; half-yearly rent, £325; term, fourteen years.
All pastoral country, ranging from 1,800 ft. to 4,900 ft. above sea-level. About 1,000 acres flat; remainder steep hillsides, carrying good tussock and large patches of inferior birch bush; well watered. Access is from Hawarden Railway-station—by good road ten miles, and by pack-track twelve miles.

Reserve in Taranaki Land District for Lease by Public Tender.
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 8th October, 1918.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for lease of the undermentioned reserve will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 12th November, 1918, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and amendments.
Possession will be given on the date of acceptance of the tender.
SCHEDULE.
SECTION 57, Otakeho Village: Area, 1 acre; upset annual rent, £2 10s.; term, three years. Comprises level land in grass.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.
- Six months’ rent at the rate offered, together with £1 1s. lease fee, must accompany each tender.
- The lease shall be for the term stated, and shall be subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Government.
- No declaration is required. Residence is not compulsory. No compensation shall be claimed by the lessee, nor shall any be allowed by the Government, on account of any improvements effected by the lessee, or on account of the aforesaid possible resumption.
- The lessee shall pay all rates, taxes, and assessments that may become due and payable.
- The rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance.
- The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the land comprised in the lease without the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
- The land shall not be cropped nor broken up except with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
- The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, and sweetbrier on the land comprised in the lease, and he shall with reasonable despatch remove, or cause to be removed, all noxious weeds or plants as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
- The lease will be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee fails to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within twenty-one days after the date on which the same ought to have been fulfilled.
Tenders should be addressed “The Commissioner of Crown Lands, New Plymouth,” and marked on the outside “Tender for Reserve.”

The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
