Soldiers’ Property Board of Trustees appointed.

National Efficiency Board,

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance of the regulations relating to the management of soldiers’ properties made on the 2nd April, 1917, under the War Regulations Act, 1914, and its amendments, the Minister of Defence has constituted and appointed the following Soldiers’ Property Board of Trustees, namely :—

THE LANCELOT EDMUND ATHELSTAN HITCHINGS SOLDIERS’ PROPERTY BOARD OF TRUSTEES.—Consisting of George Elliot, of Auckland, District Commissioner of the National Efficiency Board; Arthur William Gillies, Expert Adviser to the Auckland Commissioner of the National Efficiency Board; Joseph Barugh, of Hamilton, retired farmer; Frederick Richard Seddon, of Hamilton, farmer; and John McCaw, of Hamilton, retired farmer.

The Finance Act, 1918.—Land-tax payable.

Land and Income Tax Office,
Wellington, 24th October, 1918.

BY Order in Council, made and issued by His Excellency the Governor-General in Council on the 30th day of July, 1918, under the authority of the above Act, it was determined that the duty by way of land-tax leviable under the said Act should be paid in one sum on Friday, the 8th day of November, 1918, at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington; and, in accordance with such Order in Council, I hereby give notice that the said duty will be payable accordingly.

Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 29th November, 1918. The liability to pay is not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise the additional percentage accrues. Any overpayment will be adjusted by refund.
