ADDITIONAL REGISTRATION OFFICER APPOINTED.
Pursuant to the Registration of Aliens Act, 1917, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister of the Crown for the time being charged by the Governor-General with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint the Customs Officer at the Bluff to be a Registration Officer under the said Act.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-laws.—Mongonui County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-laws made by the Mongonui County Council as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Mongonui County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Special Order made by the Avondale Road Board making By-laws.

THE following special order, made by the Avondale Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

AVONDALE ROAD BOARD.

BY-LAWS No. 3.

By-laws of the Inhabitants of the Avondale Road District made by special order of the Avondale Road Board passed at a special meeting of the said Road Board held on the 28th day of August, 1918, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Road Board held on the 2nd day of October, 1918.

WHEREAS the Avondale Road District is situate within the County of Eden, wherein the Counties Act, 1908, is suspended, now, the Avondale Road Board hereby ordain as follows:—
By-laws No. 3 made by the Avondale Road Board on the 1st day of November, 1911, are, from and immediately after the date on which these by-laws shall come into operation, repealed, but shall, notwithstanding, remain in force so far only as relates to any offence committed, penalty incurred, prosecution or proceeding commenced, license issued, or notice given under or against any of the provisions thereof before the coming into force of these by-laws; and in substitution and lieu thereof the Avondale Road Board hereby, by special order, makes or ordains these by-laws.

INTRODUCTORY.

In these by-laws, if not inconsistent with the context, “Board” shall mean the Avondale Road Board; “Clerk” shall mean the person for the time being acting as Clerk of the Avondale Road Board; “Inspector” shall mean such officer appointed by the Board to act for the purpose of carrying out or enforcing the provisions of these or any by-laws or Act relating to the construction or erection of buildings or the alteration thereof; “District” shall mean the Avondale Road District.

PART I.
Offences on Roads.

  1. Every person who does any of the acts mentioned in this clause upon the roads within the Avondale Road District shall be guilty of an offence.
