Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £2,400 proposed to be raised by the Waikohu County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of October, 1918.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Waikohu County Council, acting under and in pursuance of paragraph (e) of section sixteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, lately proposed to raise a loan of two thousand four hundred pounds for the purpose of metalling a portion of Kanakanaia Road within the Kanakanaia No. 3 Special Rating Area :

And whereas the ratepayers’ consent given under paragraph (e) of section sixteen aforesaid is irregular, in that one of the subscribing ratepayers has attested the signatures of the other subscribers thereto :

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by the said irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the ratepayers’ consent to the raising of the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been properly witnessed, and that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

At the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of October, 1918.

WHEREAS the Moa Road Board, acting under and in pursuance of paragraph (e) of section sixteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, lately proposed to raise a loan of one thousand and fifty pounds for the purpose of constructing a bridge over the Makara Stream, and forming and metalling Coopers Hill on the Rimutauteka Road :

And whereas the ratepayers’ consent given under paragraph (e) of section sixteen aforesaid is irregular, in that one of the subscribing ratepayers has attested the signatures of other subscribers thereto :

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by the said irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same :

WHEREAS the New Brighton Borough Council, acting under and in pursuance of paragraph (e) of section sixteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, lately proposed to raise a loan of one hundred and fifty pounds for the purpose of forming and metalling Jubilee Avenue :

And whereas the ratepayers’ consent given under paragraph (e) of section sixteen aforesaid is irregular, in that two of the subscribing ratepayers have attested the signatures of the other subscribers thereto :

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by the said irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the ratepayers’ consent to the raising of the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been properly witnessed, and that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Trustees for the Kohekohe Public Cemetery appointed.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

ALEXANDER DUNCAN MCEWAN,
JOHN IRWIN DOUGLAS,
CHARTERS DICKEY, and
JOSEPH ALFRED RENALL, Jun.,

to be trustees, in the place of Samuel Dickey, deceased, Robert McWatt, who has left the district, and Robert McEwen and William Douglas, who have resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Kohekohe Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Astley Gillott, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Notifying Lands in Otago Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the tenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Town Land.

SECTION 10, Block I, Township of Mornington : Area, 16·3 perches ; upset price, £85.

A somewhat steep section. Situated in a good locality within two minutes’ walk of the cable car.
