Registration of Aliens.

PURSUANT to the power conferred upon me by subsection (2) of section 3 of the Registration of Aliens Act, 1917, I have appointed the persons referred to in the warrant published hereunder to be additional Registration Officers under that Act.

Pursuant to the Registration of Aliens Act, 1917, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister of the Crown for the time being charged by the Governor-General with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint the Commandant of the Motuihi Island Internment Camp and the Commandant of the Somes Island Internment Camp to be Registration Officers under the said Act.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Cook County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

Notice of Result of a Poll of Ratepayers.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Kaiti Drainage Special Rating District taken on the 20th day of August, 1918, on the proposal of the Cook County Council to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the construction of drainage-works, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 46, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 20.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waimarino County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

Results of Polls.
Pursuant to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, public notice is hereby given of the results of polls of the ratepayers of the county taken on the 19th of August, 1918, on the proposals of the Waimarino County Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for rebuilding offices, and to make and levy a bridge rate of ¼d. in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the county:-
Loan of £3,000: For the proposal, 141; against the proposal, 45; total votes, 186.
Make and levy a bridge rate of ¼d. in the pound on capital value: For the proposal, 117; against the proposal, 64; informal, 5; total votes, 186.
And as the valid votes recorded in favour of each of the aforesaid proposals exceeds three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at the polls, I hereby declare each of the above proposals to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waitemata County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.
Result of Poll of Proposed Loan.
Pursuant to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby notify that a poll of ratepayers of the Titirangi Riding of the County of Waitemata was taken on the 11th day of September, 1918, on the proposal of the Waitemata County Council to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of road construction, metalling, grading, and bridge-building in the said Titirangi Riding of the County of Waitemata.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 32, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 25.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Sumner, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Gasworks Loan Special Rating Area of the Borough of Sumner held on the 25th day of September, 1918, on the proposal of the Sumner Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of building retorts and extensions in connection with the present municipal gasworks, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 13, and that no votes were recorded against the proposal.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE. — WILLIAM RUSSELL CAMPBELL, Esquire, of Orange, New South Wales, Australia, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Honourable the Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales, under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.
