AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named
company held at Dunedin on 5th day of September,
1918, the following special resolution, which was duly passed
at an extraordinary general meeting of the company held on
the 15th of August, 1918, was confirmed:—
“ That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting
that the company by reason of its liabilities cannot continue
its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same,
and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily;
and that Mr. W. T. MONKMAN, of Dunedin, Accountant,
and Mr. R. A. MATHEWSON, the Secretary of the Company,
be appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.”

company incorporated in the State of New South Wales,

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.
EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING
HELD ON THE 12TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1918.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Franklin
County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of five thousand pounds
(£5,000), authorized to be raised by the Franklin County
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following
purposes,—
(a.) For construction of the road known as Mangatangi
Road, from the eastern boundary of Koheroa
Block to eastern boundary of Section 163, Koheroa
Parish : £500
(b.) For legalization and construction of the road known
as Mangatangi—New Brighton Road, from eastern
boundary of Section 163, Koheroa Parish, to north-
eastern corner of Opita Block : £3,000
(c.) For construction of the road known as Mangatangi—
Miranda Road, from the eastern boundary of Sec-
tion 163, Koheroa Parish, to the Miranda Landing :
£1,500
the said Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of one penny farthing (1½d.) in the pound
sterling upon the rateable value, on the basis of the capital
value, of all rateable property of the Mangatangi-New Brigh-
ton Special Rating Area, comprising all that area in the
Auckland Land District bounded towards the north by the
Manukan County, as described on page 1989 of the New
Zealand Gazette, 1915, from the north-eastern corner of
Section No. 109, Parish of Otay, to the mouth of the Pu-
whenua Stream on the Hauraki Gulf; thence towards the
east by the said Hauraki Gulf to the Pukorokoro Creek;
thence towards the south by a right line across the said
creek to the north-easternmost corner of Section No. 82,
Koheroa Parish; thence by that section and by the Pokeno—
Miranda Road to the eastern boundary of the block of Crown
land known as Koheroa No. 2 K.G.R.; thence towards the
west generally by the said Koheroa Block, by Section No. 109,
Otay Parish, by Section 48A, Otay Parish (State forest
reserve), by a scenic reserve, Section 47, Otay Parish, again
by the aforesaid scenic reserve, and by Sections Nos. 108,
61, 59, 58, 57, 55, 103, and 102, Otay Parish, to the point of
commencement. And that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the County of Franklin was hereunto affixed
this 12th day of September, 1918.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto
existing between us, the undersigned, ARTHUR JAMES
FOSTER and EDWARD JOHN PEZET, of Half-way Bush, near
Dunedin, Farmers, has been dissolved by mutual consent as
from the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred
and eighteen; and that all debts due and owing to and by
the late firm will be received and paid respectively by the
said EDWARD JOHN PEZET, who will continue to carry on the
business under his own name.

hand.
The number of insertions required must be written
across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday
evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be
received by the Government Printer before 3 o’clock of
the day preceding publication.
