Settlement Land set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Nelson Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—WALKER SETTLEMENT.
SECTION 8, Block IX, Aorere Survey District: Area, 200 acres.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this third day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Resuming Land for a Site for a Public School in Elderslie Settlement, Otago Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor-General in Council may by Proclamation resume possession of any land leased under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under lease in perpetuity from His Majesty the King issued under the Land Act, 1892, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1894, and the amendments thereof, dated the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred:
And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for a site for a public school:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908, and section sixty-seven of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under lease in perpetuity as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section 35A (formerly portion of Section 24A), Elderslie Settlement, situated in Block III, Kauroo Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section 24A, Block III aforesaid, 873·1 links; towards the north-east by a road-line, 854·1 links; towards the south-east by part Section 22, Block III aforesaid, 356·3 links; and towards the south-west by a road-line, 853·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/18A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Revoking the Reservation over Scenic Reserves in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by Proclamation dated the sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eleventh day of that month, the lands described in the Schedule hereto were declared to be reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1903:
And whereas the said lands are no longer suitable for scenic purposes by reason of the destruction of the bush thereon:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section eight of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, do hereby revoke the reservation for scenic purposes over the lands described in the Schedule hereto.

Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 368 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-eight of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided, inter alia, that the Crown may purchase any Native land in pursuance of a resolution of the assembled owners passed and confirmed in accordance with Part XVIII of the said Act, and on the resolution being adopted by the Native Land Purchase Board it shall become a contract of purchase as between the Crown and all persons who are the owners of the land;
