ELTHAM DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Eltham Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £250, authorized to be raised by the Eltham Drainage Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of land-drainage construction-works as follows—between Sub. 6, Pukengahu 1, Block VII, and Section 34, Blocks VII and XI, Ngaere Survey District, respectively (15 chains, more or less), also 30 chains of circuit drain in each of said sections, making a total distance of 75 chains, more or less—the said Eltham Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-sixteenths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on basis of capital value) of Section 34, Blocks VII and XI, Ngaere Survey District, and also a special rate of twenty-five thirty-seconds of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on basis of capital value) of Sub. 6, Pukengahu 1, Block VII, Ngaere Survey District, and collectively comprising all the rateable property of the Eltham Drainage District No. 11 Special Rating Area; and that such special rates shall respectively be annual-recurring rates during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a properly convened ordinary meeting of the Eltham Drainage Board held on the 26th day of June, 1918.

In the matter of the ELECTRIC GOLD-DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of this company held in the Board Room of the N.Z. Express Company, Bond Street, Dunedin, on Tuesday, the 30th day of July, 1918, at 4 p.m., the following resolution passed at an extraordinary meeting of the company held on the 10th day of July, 1918—viz., that the Electric Gold-dredging Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily—was confirmed as a special resolution.

A further resolution was passed at the above meeting appointing GEORGE ARTHUR HARLOW, of Dunedin, Liquidator of the said company for the purposes of such winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given that W. McKay and Son (Limited), a private company having its registered office at the City of Nelson, on the 3rd day of August, 1918, duly passed a special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908.

WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN, £2,200.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairoa County Council Protective Works Loan, £2,200, 1918, authorized to be raised by the said Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing the Wairoa County Council’s share of the cost of protective works at the Wairoa Town Bridge, the renewal of bridge decking, and of alterations to the drawspan of the said bridge, the Wairoa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixtieth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairoa County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly submitted to and passed at a meeting of the Wairoa County Council held on the twelfth day of July, 1918.

COUNTY OF TARANAKI.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Taranaki County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the widening of Devon Road near Mahoetahi; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited for public inspection at Mrs. F. H. Sampson’s Store, Sentry Hill.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the County Chambers, Robe Street, New Plymouth.

APPROXIMATE area of land required to be taken: 1 rood 34 perches.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Taranaki County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the widening of main South Road at the corner known as Carthew’s Corner; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited for public inspection at Mr. J. S. Fox’s Store, Okato.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the County Chambers, Robe Street, New Plymouth.
