HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, vide List No. 66, N.Z.E.F. Orders.

AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant C. G. R. Jackson, having been absent from his unit off duty for four months, is seconded, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 34. Dated 14th March, 1918.

Captain W. Haeata relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, to be Second in Command of a squadron. Dated 8th March, 1918.

Captain W. W. Averill to be Adjutant, vice Captain W. Haeata. Dated 8th March, 1918.

The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants:—
13/2206, R.Q.M.S. J. S. Innes. Dated 12th March, 1918.
13/1094, Sergeant A. G. Shand. Dated 13th March, 1918.

Memorandum.

Major D. Munro performed the duties of Second in Command of the regiment, vice Major H. S. Whitehorn, attending school of instruction, from 21st January, 1918, to 10th March, 1918.

CANTERBURY MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain D. E. G. Cardale, N.Z.S.C., to be Permanent Instructor, N.Z. Training Units and Depots in Egypt, to complete Establishment, and is seconded whilst so employed. Dated 12th March, 1918.

Captain A. Anderson, returning to regimental duty, relinquishes the appointment of Quartermaster, N.Z. Training Units and Depots in Egypt, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 27th March, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant N. A. Whiting to be Signalling Officer, vice 2nd Lieutenant H. Benson. Dated 31st March, 1918.

Major (temp. Lieut.-Colonel) P. M. Acton-Adams, D.S.O., relinquishes the temporary rank of Lieut.-Colonel on Lieut.-Colonel J. Findlay, C.B., D.S.O., rejoining from leave. Dated 4th April, 1918.

Captain (temp. Major) L. R. C. McFarlane relinquishes the temporary rank of Major on Major H. C. Hurst, D.S.O., relinquishing the temporary appointment of Second in Command of the regiment. Dated 4th April, 1918.

Memoranda.

Major P. M. Acton-Adams, D.S.O., temporarily commanded the regiment, vice Lieut.-Colonel J. Findlay, C.B., D.S.O., on leave, from 22nd January, 1918, to 4th April, 1918.

Major H. C. Hurst, D.S.O., temporarily performed the duties of Second in Command of the regiment, vice Major P. M. Acton-Adams, D.S.O., temporarily in command, from 22nd January, 1918, to 4th April, 1918.

WELLINGTON MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant R. H. Perrett ceases to be seconded for duty to New Zealand. Dated 4th April, 1918.

Lieutenant E. S. Fossett to be Quartermaster, N.Z. Training Units and Depots in Egypt, vice Captain A. Anderson, Canterbury Mounted Rifles, returned to regimental duty, and is seconded whilst so employed. Dated 27th March, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant (now Captain) E. A. MacIntyre performed the duties of Adjutant at Sling Camp from 16th November, 1916, to 8th December, 1916.

Lieutenant I. B. Cruickshank to be Captain, vice Major C. L. Sommerville. Dated 2nd April, 1918.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants:—
W. J. Hollis, vice Lieutenant E. S. Fossett (seconded for duty as Quartermaster, N.Z. Training Units and Depots in Egypt), and remains seconded for duty to New Zealand. Dated 27th March, 1918.

N.Z. CAMEL CORPS.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) R. F. Mackenzie, M.C., relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain on return to duty of Captain G. F. Yerex. Dated 27th February, 1918.

Memorandum.

Lieutenant R. F. Mackenzie, M.C., temporarily commanded No. 16 Company, vice Captain G. F. Yerex, from 7th January, 1918, to 27th February, 1918.

OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain (temp. Major) R. F. Mitchell, M.C., relinquishes the temporary rank of Major on resumption of command of the squadron by Major G. R. Mitchell. Dated 3rd May, 1918.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) A. S. Herbert relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain on Captain R. F. Mitchell, M.C., relinquishing temporary command of the squadron. Dated 3rd May, 1918.

N.Z. CYCLIST CORPS.

Lieutenant G. Clark-Walker to be Adjutant, vice Lieutenant C. A. Dickeson, M.C., killed in action, and is granted the acting rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 26th April, 1918.

N.Z. FIELD ARTILLERY.

Acting Major R. A. Wilson, R.G.A., is attached to the N.Z. E.F. and posted to the N.Z. Field Artillery in the rank of Major, with seniority from 2nd May, 1917. Dated 27th April, 1918.

Lieutenant (Acting Captain) R. McPherson, M.C., to be Captain, vice Captain J. C. Dunnett, died of wounds, and retains the appointment of Adjutant, N.Z.F.A. Reserve Depot. Dated 5th April, 1918.

Lieutenant A. C. Macdonald to be Captain, vice Lieutenant R. McPherson, M.C., promoted and retaining appointment as Adjutant. Dated 5th April, 1918.

11/652, Corporal J. R. H. Cooksey to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 7th May, 1918.

7/357, Squadron S.M. A. F. Lang is transferred from Canterbury Mounted Rifles and promoted to be 2nd Lieutenant, vice 2nd Lieutenant S. G. Browne, placed on the N.Z. Roll, and is seconded for duty with Field Squadron Anzac Mounted Division. Dated 7th March, 1918.

Signal Services.

Captain H. C. Mackenzie, M.C., is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst temporarily commanding the N.Z. Divisional Signal Company, vice Major H. M. Edwards, D.S.O., R.E. Dated 26th April, 1918.

Tunnelling Company.

Lieutenant R. H. Jackson is placed on the N.Z. Roll. Dated 1st May, 1918.

AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant T. E. Hickson, having been declared by a Medical Board to be fit for general service, ceases to be seconded under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 34. Dated 30th April, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant H. L. King is transferred to N.Z. Machine-gun Corps. Dated 27th March, 1918.
