The marking of vehicles will be performed by hand-painting by battery and regimental artificers. In the absence of artificers trained to hand-painting, vehicles will be marked by the A.O.D. White paint will be used for all markings with the exception of the Geneva cross, which will be red on white ground, and the lettering of bicycles enamelled orange colour, for which black paint will be used. The size of letters and figures will be as laid down in Table 4

Vehicles which are on charge to various corps for local purposes will be marked to show the purpose to which they are locally appropriated.
Weight and Load.
- The weight of vehicle and the weight of load the vehicle is designed to carry will be marked on the near side of vehicles, as near the centre as possible, low down.
