All units will be kept informed of these arrangements so far as they are concerned.

  3. Ammunition for Rifle Clubs will be issued under paras. 635 to 641, Regulations for Military Forces, Dominion of New Zealand, 1913.

  4. On the 1st June in each year all units will render to the Ordnance Officer of district a return showing the actual strength of warrant officers and N.C.O.s and men on that date, also the number of rounds of blank ·303 in. ammunition (except that authorized under para. 132) actually in possession of the unit. The Ordnance Officer will forward these returns to the D. of E. & O.S. in consolidated form.

This consolidated statement will be passed to the C.G.S. for the decision of the G.O.C. as to whether the quantities shown in possession of units are to be allowed in whole or in part in addition to the quantities issuable for the year, or whether they are to be taken in diminution thereof.

The quantities to be allotted to the several units in the districts will be communicated from time to time by the C.G.S. to the D. of E. & O.S., who will issue the necessary instructions to Ordnance Officers of districts, at the same time notifying the C.G.S. what balance, if any, remains for allotment.

  8. Any part of the annual allowance of ammunition authorized under this paragraph not drawn from Ordnance Department by the 31st May in each year will lapse. Quantities so forfeited may not be added to the allowance for the following year.

  9. C.O.s may obtain on repayment from the Ordnance Department such quantities of small-arm ammunition as may be required for regimental purposes.

Pistol ammunition will only be issued on repayment for the use of those ranks who are armed with pistols on service.
