All situated in Ruataniwha O.G. District (Hawke’s Bay R.D.), Block IX, Waipukurau Survey District.
All in the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41035, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Land taken, Roads closed, and Roads required to be kept free from Obstruction, for the Purposes of a Rifle Range in Block IV, Pirongia Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the First Schedule hereto is required to be taken, the roads described in the Second Schedule hereto are required to be closed, and the roads described in the Third Schedule hereto are required to be kept free from obstruction, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purposes of a rifle range in Block IV, Pirongia Survey District:
And whereas by section two hundred and twenty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided that any land or any road or street, or part thereof, may be taken or closed for defence purposes, or required to be kept free from any obstruction in respect of the use of any fortification, in the manner therein provided:
And whereas by section two hundred and twenty-five of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided that land required for rifle ranges may be taken as for a public work, and in the manner prescribed in Part IX of the said Act for taking land for defence purposes:
And whereas by section eighty-eight of the Defence Act, 1909, it is enacted that the Governor may take land for rifle ranges:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Defence Act, 1909, and every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a rifle range, the roads described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby closed for the same purpose, and the roads described in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby required to be kept free from obstruction, in respect of the use of the said rifle range; and I also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the ninth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Adjoining or passing through Section 443, Pirongia East Township; Sections 441, 450, 452, Alexandra East Township; and Pirongia Town Belt.
Coloured on plan: Burnt sienna, edged blue.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41960, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block IX, Totoro Survey District, Waitomo County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purposes of a road in Block IX, Totoro Survey District, Waitomo County:
And whereas an agreement has been entered into between the Waitomo County Council and the owner of the land described in the Schedule hereto to take such land for the purposes of a road:
And whereas the Waitomo County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Counties Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for purposes of the said road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-third day of June, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 4 acres 0 roods 12 perches.
Being Section 23 (Taranaki R.D.), Block IX, Totoro Survey District.
In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42269, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured pink.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.
