Manai'a Agricultural and Pastoral Association incorporated.—
Notice No. 1887.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourteenth day of May, 1917.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby incorporate the members of the Manai'a Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and such persons as shall hereafter be admitted members of the said association agreeably to the rules of the said association and the provisions of the said Act, into a body corporate under the style and title of “The Manai'a Agricultural and Pastoral Association.”

The Education Act, 1914.—Amendments in the Regulations for Training Colleges.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourteenth day of May, 1917.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1914, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the amendment shown in the Schedule hereto in the regulations in force for training colleges; and doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

CLAUSE 11 (1)(a) is hereby amended by adding the words “or have satisfactorily completed a two years’ course of training at a kindergarten school under the control of a kindergarten association maintaining free kindergarten schools recognized by the Education Department for purposes of subsidy.”

Validating Biennial Election of Members of Takaka Town Board.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourteenth day of May, 1917.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, pursuant to section twenty of the Town Boards Act, 1908, a general election of members of the Takaka Town Board should have been held on the twentieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen:

And whereas no notice of such election was given as required by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, and consequently such election was not held on such day:

And whereas the Returning Officer thereafter appointed the seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, for the nomination of candidates for election as members of the said Board:

And whereas, in consequence of the retirement of one candidate, the number of candidates did not exceed the number of vacancies to be filled, and the Returning Officer did declare such candidates to be duly elected as members of the said Board:

And whereas it is expedient to validate the election of such candidates:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section twenty-four of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act, 1913, and by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the said election of the said candidates so declared to have been elected, and doth declare that the election of the said candidates shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularities aforesaid.

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £750 proposed to be raised by the Council of the County of Horowhenua.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourteenth day of May, 1917.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Horowhenua County Council lately proposed to raise a loan of seven hundred and fifty pounds, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of road and bridge construction within the Hautere Road Deviation Special-rating District:

And whereas the special roll of the ratepayers, although prepared, completed, and deposited for public inspection, was not deposited before any steps were taken to raise the said loan, as required by section seventeen of the above-mentioned Act:

And whereas the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity or defect, and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the proceedings taken to raise the said loan in so far as the validity of these proceedings may be affected by the failure to deposit the special roll at the proper time; and doth hereby declare that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

And whereas the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity or defect, and it is expedient to validate the same:
