I, THOMAS THEODORE THOMAS, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, University of New Zealand, 1917, now residing in Palmerston, Otago, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 7th June next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Dunedin.

BOROUGH OF TE AWAMUTU.
RESOLUTION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of three thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Te Awamutu Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending paving, draining, and otherwise improving the saleyards in the Borough of Te Awamutu, the said Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Te Awamutu; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution duly passed at a meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council on the 2nd day of May, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto subsisting between WILLIAM ALEXANDER RUSSELL and WILLIAM WHITAKER, carrying on business in Hastings as Motor Engineers and Taxi Proprietors, under the style or firm of “W. A. Russell & Co.,” has this day been dissolved by mutual consent.
The undersigned WILLIAM ALEXANDER RUSSELL will in future carry on the said business on his own account. All debts and liabilities incurred by the late firm will be discharged by him, and he is hereby authorized to receive all moneys due to the late firm, and his receipt shall be sufficient discharge for all moneys so received by him.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of J. A. STEPHEN (LIMITED), a company duly incorporated, and carrying on business at Methven as a Storekeeper.
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court of New Zealand was on the 21st day of April ultimo presented to His Honour Mr. Justice Denniston, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by William Davidson and Henry Hamilton Wauchop, of Christchurch, Merchants, trading as “Davidson and Wauchop,” creditors of the said company. And the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court at Christchurch on Friday, the 25th day of May, 1917, at the hour of 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon, and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous of opposing the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose. And a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
