APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 1 acre 0 roods 13·2 perches.
Being Native land situated in Block XIV, Hastings Survey District (S.O. 19336).
In the Land District of Auckland; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41807, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Portion of Church Street, in the Borough of Richmond, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this thirtieth day of April, 1917.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of any road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:
And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor, by Order in Council, thinks fit to impose:
And whereas the Richmond Borough Council, being the local authority having control of the portion of street described in the Schedule hereto has passed the following resolution—viz., “The Richmond Borough Council declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that part of Church Street between the Church of England and Gladstone Road”:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Church Street situated in the Nelson Land District, Borough of Richmond, commencing at its junction with Gladstone Road and terminating at the site of the Church of England. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41920, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this thirtieth day of April, 1917.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section,
His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this thirtieth day of April, 1917.
Present:

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.
