Appointing a Member of the Oamaru Harbour Board.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS it is provided by the eleventh section of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that if any constituent district or combined district fails at any election to elect the required number of representatives the Governor may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint such qualified persons as he thinks fit to be the representatives of that district in lieu of those who ought to have been elected; and the persons so appointed shall hold office in all respects as if they had been duly elected in conformity with the said Act:

And whereas a member of the Oamaru Harbour Board should have been elected by those of the electors of the Waihao Riding of the County of Waitaki whose qualification is within the harbour district, on the twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen: And whereas no member was elected by the electors of such district: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore- recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint

JOHN WALL

To be a member of the Oamaru Harbour Board as the representative of the electors of the hereinbefore- mentioned district.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Amending Notice under Animals Protection Act.—Auckland Acclimatization District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend, in manner herein-after provided, the notification made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated the thirtieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of April,


declaring a shooting season for imported and native game in the Auckland Acclimatization District:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby substitute the Auckland Acclimatization Society's Game Farm at Cambridge in lieu of the Auckland Acclimatization Society's Game Farm at Drury as stated in clause twelve of the Schedule to the Warrant of the thirtieth day of March, which said Warrant is hereby amended accordingly.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Certain Area in Teviot Survey District declared a Sanctuary for Imported and Native Game.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken within the said area.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, being Block I, Teviot Survey District, comprising all lagoons in the Roxburgh Amalgamated Company's old workings, bounded on the south by the Molyneux River; on the east by the Teviot River and the main road; on the north by the main road, Roxburgh to Alexandra; and on the west by the Ladysmith Company's Claim.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.
