Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Thames, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Puriri Ferry and Approach Roads Special-rating Area, a special district duly constituted within the County of Thames, taken on the 29th day of March, 1917, on the proposal of the Thames County Council to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the purpose of the construction of a ferry across the Waihou River at Puriri, and the forming and metalling of the approach roads thereto, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 41, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 21.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Prohibiting Money-orders and Postal Correspondence for National Institute of Sciences, &c.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the institution and persons whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in a fraudulent undertaking, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said institution or either of the said persons shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said institution or to the manager, secretary, or other officer thereof, or to either of the said persons (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to either of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

I, WILLIAM DONALD STUART MACDONALD, Acting Postmaster-General of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of clause 2 of the War Regulations of the 17th day of December, 1914, order that no postal packet or telegram addressed to any of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder shall be forwarded or delivered by the Post Office or transmitted by telegram.
