Vesting certain Property belonging to A. Hartrodt and Co.,
of Hamburg, in the Public Trustee, as the Custodian of
Enemy Property.

I, ALEXANDER LAWRENCE HERDMAN, His Majesty’s
Attorney-General for the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance of the powers conferred on me by clause 1 of cer-
tain regulations relating to enemy property, made under the
War Regulations Act, 1914, and its amendments, on the 21st
day of December, 1916, do hereby order and declare that
certain property in the custody of the New Zealand Express
Company (Limited) belonging to A. Hartrodt and Co., of
Hamburg, and being enemy property within the meaning of
the said regulations (to wit, a case containing metal paper-
knives, and the contents of such case), is hereby vested in the
Public Trustee as the Custodian of Enemy Property.

Revoking Prohibition of Money-order and Postal Corre-
spondence for International Trade Developer.

WHEREAS by notice dated the 3rd day of November,
1916, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of
the 9th day of November, 1916, and by notice dated the
10th day of March, 1917, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the 15th day of March, 1917, the Acting Post-
master-General did order that no postal packet or telegram
addressed to or intended for the firm or company named in
the Schedule hereto should be forwarded or delivered by the
Post Office or transmitted by telegraph: And whereas it is
deemed expedient to revoke such orders:
Now, therefore, I, William Donald Stuart MacDonald,
Acting Postmaster-General of New Zealand, do hereby, in
pursuance of clause 3 of the regulations made on the 17th
day of December, 1914, under the War Regulations Act, 1914,
revoke the said orders, and do hereby order that such postal
packets shall be forwarded and delivered and that such
telegrams shall be transmitted by telegraph in the usual
course.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Council of the County of Raglan, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Hamiltons Deviation Special-rating District.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the
following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the
Hamiltons Deviation Special-rating District taken on the
24th day of March, 1917, on the proposal to borrow the sum
of £600 for the purpose of taking, forming, and metalling a
deviation on the Onewhero to Wairamarama main road:—
Total number of valid votes recorded, 152; for the
proposal, 83; against the proposal, 69.
The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the pro-
posal being less than three-fifths of the total number of valid
votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the proposal to
be lost.

Borough of Gisborne, is published in accordance with

BOROUGH OF GISBORNE.

Notice of Result of Poll of Loan.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,
and of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and the Acts
amending same respectively.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 21st day of March, 1917,
a proposal was submitted by the Gisborne Borough Council
to the ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne for raising
a special loan of £50,000 for stormwater drainage for the
Borough of Gisborne, and that the number of votes recorded
respectively for and against the proposal was as follows:
For, 240; against, 107; informal, 3.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

COUNTY OF CLUTHA.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of
the Owaka Township Special-rating District was taken on
the 22nd day of March, 1917, on the proposal of the Clutha
County Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for metalling
and improvement of streets or roads within the Owaka
Township Special-rating District.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 65,
and the number of votes recorded against the proposal
was 6.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll for Muhunga Drain Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Muhunga Drain Special-rating District taken on the
20th day of March, 1917, on the proposal of the Cook County
Council to borrow the sum of £1,500 for enlarging and ex-
tending the Muhunga Drain, the number of votes recorded
for the proposal was 25, and the number of votes recorded
against the proposal was 12.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
