issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each; and the Postmasters at Raetihi, Kaitieke, Manunui, Horopito, Owhango, Ohakune East, Pipiriki, Rangatua, Raurimu, Kakahi, and Ohakune are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses to kill imported game.

And I do further notify that the following native game—viz., grey duck, teal, and black swan—may be killed within the above-mentioned district (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto) from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, both days inclusive; and do hereby restrict the number of such native game that may be killed by any one person in any one day to not more than twenty-five head in all.

SCHEDULE.
AREAS WHEREIN IMPORTED AND NATIVE GAME SHALL NOT BE KILLED.

THE Rangataua Domain; the forest and scenery reserve, Section R 24B, Block VIII, Makotuku; the cemetery reserve, Section R 24B, Block VIII, Makotuku; also all lands notified or set apart as sanctuaries or reserves for the preservation of imported or native game.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing about 380 acres, being the Main Trunk Railway Reserve at Raurimu, situated in Kaitieke and Tongariro Survey Districts, extending northwards from the one-hundred-and-sixth mile from Marton Junction to Arline Creek and the railway-crossing of the road immediately north of the Town of Raurimu.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirtieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Shooting Season for Native Game, Waimate Acclimatization District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following native game—viz., grey duck, spoonbill duck, black swan, pukeko, and teal—may be killed within the Waimate Acclimatization District, comprising all that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded towards the north generally by Mackenzie and Levels Counties from the middle of the Waitaki River to the sea, towards the east by the sea to the mouth of the Waitaki River, and towards the south-west and west generally by a line along the middle of that river to Mackenzie County, the place of commencement (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto), from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, both days inclusive. And I do hereby restrict the number of such native game that may be killed by any one person in any one day to not more than twenty-five head in all.

SCHEDULE.
AREAS WHEREIN NATIVE GAME SHALL NOT BE KILLED.

  1. MILL-DAM at Willowbridge and an area of twenty chains surrounding the said mill-dam.

  2. Valley of Franz Josef Glacier described in New Zealand Gazette No. 60, of 4th July, 1912.

  3. Land at Wainono, South Canterbury, the property of H. B. S. Johnstone, Esq., of Springbank, Otaio, and known as the Pot Holes.

  4. All lands notified or set apart as sanctuaries or reserves for the preservation of imported or native game.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following native game—viz., grey duck and black swan—may be killed within the Waitaki Acclimatization District, comprising all that area in the Canterbury and Otago Land Districts bounded towards the north-west by the summit of the Southern Alps from the north-eastern corner of Vincent County to Mount Cook; thence towards the north-east by a right line over Ball Hut to the Tasman Glacier, by the western side of the Tasman Glacier to the Tasman River, by a line along the middle of that river and through the middle of Lake Pukaki to and along the middle of the Pukaki River and the middle of the Waitaki River to the sea; towards the east by the sea to Waihemo County; and towards the south-west and west by Waihemo, Maniototo, and Vincent Counties to the summit of the Southern Alps, the place of commencement (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto), from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, both days inclusive. And I do hereby restrict the number of such native game that may be killed by any one person in any one day to not more than twenty-five head in all.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following imported game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian and Australian quail, and hares—may be killed within the said Wanganui Acclimatization District, comprising the Counties of Wanganui and Waitotara (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto), from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, both days inclusive; and I do hereby restrict the number of cock pheasants that may be killed by any one person in any one day to twelve. And I do further notify that licenses to kill such imported game within the said district shall be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each; and the Chief Postmaster at Wanganui, and the Postmasters at Fordell and Mangamahu, are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses to kill imported game.

And I do further notify that the following native game—viz., grey duck, teal, and black swan—may be killed within the above-mentioned district (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto) from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, both days inclusive; and do hereby restrict the number of such native game that may be killed by any one person in any one day to not more than twenty-five head in all.

SCHEDULE.

THE lakes known as the Westmere and Virginia Lakes, and an area ten chains in width surrounding the said lakes; also Matipo Park and Hipango Park, and all lands notified or set apart as sanctuaries or reserves for the preservation of imported or native game.
