The work proposed to be erected upon the said land is a reservoir to be used in connection with the Gisborne Borough waterworks, and incidental works thereto, and the description of the land is as shown on the said plan.

All persons having any objection to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands are hereby required to send such objection in writing to the Gisborne Borough Council on or before the 28th day of April, 1917.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned, JAMES HENRY SILVESTER and EDGAR SILVESTER, both of Waikanae, Basket-makers, under the style or firm of “Silvester Bros.,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from this date. The business will hereafter be carried on by the said JAMES HENRY SILVESTER under the style of “J. H. Silvester.”

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows :- That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the survey of and acquiring land for a road, fencing and constructing same, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ld. in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property of the Heights Road Extension Special-rating Area, comprising Sections 6 and 7 of Block III, Waiopohu Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a correct copy of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Horowhenua County Council held on the 10th day of February, 1917.

TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING RATE, PASSED AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON 19TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1916.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :- That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £3,600, authorized to be raised by the Te Kuiti Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the following purposes :-

(a.) £125 of such loan to be applied in forming and draining Nettie Street :

(b.) £175 of such loan to be applied in forming and draining Manawaite Street :

(c.) £75 of such loan to be applied in forming and draining Erold Street :

(d.) £250 of such loan to be applied in forming and draining William Street :

(e.) £450 of such loan to be applied in forming and draining Esplanade (from Ngaronga Street to William Street) :

(f.) £300 of such loan to be applied in forming and draining Te Kuiti Road :

(g.) £175 of such loan to be applied in forming and draining Ngaronga Street :

(h.) £250 of such loan to be applied in forming and draining new street at back of Dr. Zobel’s property :

(i.) £1,400 of such loan to be applied in construction of traffic-bridge over the Mangaokewa River at Sheridan Street :

(j.) £400 of such loan to be applied in contingencies, engineering charges, first year’s interest, and flotation expenses :

the said Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence and one-eighth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Te Kuiti 2B and Blocks 7, 8, 9, and 10, Te Kuiti Township Special-rating Area, such special rating-area being bounded as follows,— Commencing at a point on south-eastern boundary of Te Kuiti 2B No. 8 approximately 23 chains north-east of William Street, running thence along that boundary to the south-eastern end of William Street, running thence south-west along the Mangaokewa Stream to the southern boundary of Te Kuiti 2B No. lH, running thence along the southern boundary of Te Kuiti 2B No. lH to meet the road at the south-western corner of Te Kuiti 2B No. lH to the south-eastern corner of Te Kuiti 2B No. lc, running thence along the road north-west to meet the Mangaokewa River near Lawrence Street, running thence along the river to the south-western boundary of Te Kuiti 2B No. 1 at James Street, running thence along that boundary to a point approximately 19½ chains north-east of William Street, running thence south-east across Te Kuiti 2B Nos. 10, 7, 8 to the starting-point on the south-eastern boundary of Te Kuiti 2B No. 8; and, in addition, including portion of Te Kuiti Township on the western side of the Mangaokewa Stream, being Sections 10 and 11, Block VIII, Sections 10 and 11, Block VII, Sections 1, 2, 3, Block IX, Sections 1 and 23, Block X, Te Kuiti Township, as shown on deposited plan No. 8323, Auckland Survey Office.

And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the WELLINGTON AND WANGANUI STEAM PACKET COMPANY (LIMITED), in Liquidation.

THE following extraordinary resolution was passed at a duly constituted extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Wellington and Wanganui Steam Packet Company (Limited) held at noon on Tuesday, the 6th day of March, 1917 :-

“That it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.

“ That Mr. W. S. WHEELER, of Wellington, Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator of the company for the purpose of such winding-up.”
