Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £2,200
proposed to be raised by the Council of the County of
Wanganui.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fifth day
of March, 1917.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE A. L. HERDMAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Wanganui County Council lately pro-
posed to raise a loan of two thousand two hun-
dred pounds for the purpose of constructing the Wangaehu
Suspension Bridge, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913:
And whereas an irregularity or defect occurred both in the
notice published in pursuance of section nine of the said Act
and in the voting-paper used at the poll upon the said pro-
posal, in that the term of the said loan (namely, thirty-six
years and a half) was not set forth in such notice and voting-
paper: And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have
not been misled by such irregularity or defect, and it is
expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred on him by section one
hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Exe-
cutive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare
that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall
be valid to all intents and purposes as though the term of
the said loan had been stated in the said notice and voting-
paper, and that the proceedings shall not be called into
question by reason only of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.

Validating Special Order by the Mangawara Drainage Board
subdividing the District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Mangawara Drainage Board lately
proceeded by way of special order (hereinafter
referred to as “the said special order”) to subdivide the
Mangawara Drainage District: And whereas public notice
of the time and place fixed for the meeting of the Board to
confirm the resolution making the said special order and of
such resolution, although given once in each of four weeks,
was not given once in each of the four weeks immediately
preceding the day on which that meeting was held: And
whereas it is deemed expedient to validate the said irregu-
larity:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him in that behalf by the
Land Drainage Act, 1908, and section 217 of the Counties
Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
validate the said irregularity, and doth declare that the said
special order shall not be called in question by reason only
of the irregularity aforesaid.

Declaring a certain Area at Pouto Point to be a Sanctuary for
Native Game.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the area described
in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes
of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no native game
shall be taken or killed within the said area.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of water, comprising 410 acres (approximately),
known as Humahuma Lake, and situated in Block XIII,
Hukatere, and Block I, Okaka Survey Districts, in the Auck-
land Land District.
Also all that area of water, comprising 47 acres (approxi-
mately), known as Waingata Lake, and situated in Blocks I
and II, Okaka Survey District, in the Auckland Land District.
Also all that area of water, comprising 168 acres (approxi-
mately), known as Kanono Lake, and situated in Blocks I
and II, Okaka Survey District, in the Auckland Land District.
Also all that area of water, comprising 43 acres (approxi-
mately), known as Kopupuarere Lake, and situated in Block II,
Okaka Survey District, in the Auckland Land District.
Also all that area of water, comprising 4 acres, lying in
Subdivisions 6 and 7 of Pouto No. 2E Block, and a distance of
fifty chains (approximate) from the south-western corner of
Subdivision 6, and situated in Block II, Okaka Survey District,
in the Auckland Land District.
Also all that area of water, comprising 2½ acres, lying in
Subdivision 6 of Pouto No. 2E Block, and a distance of twenty
chains (approximately) north and thirty-five chains (approxi-
mately) west from the south-western corner of Subdivision 6,
Pouto No. 2E Block, and situated in Block II, Okaka Survey
District, in the Auckland Land District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this third day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.

this third day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.

Declaring a certain Portion of the Taieri River at the Styx,
Central Otago, to be a Sanctuary for Imported and Native
Game.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zea-
land, do hereby notify and declare that the area described
in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes
of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no imported
or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area.
SCHEDULE.
ONE mile of the Taieri River upstream from where the Styx
Creek enters the said river, and in addition a belt of land
ten chains wide on the left bank of the river for the length
of one mile upstream, and on the right bank for one mile
upstream all the land between the river and the public road.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this second day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.
