is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given
that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited
at the Clutha County Offices, Balclutha, and is there open for
inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution
of the said public work or by the taking of the said land
should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the
execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land,
set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within
forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Chairman, Clutha County Council, Balclutha.

COMMENCEMENT OF BUSINESS.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and of the
COLONIAL RUBBER COMPANY (LIMITED).
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 302 of the
Companies Act, 1908, I, John Ernest Piper, of the
City of Auckland, Attorney for the Colonial Rubber Com-
pany (Limited), hereby give notice that the said company
proposes to commence and carry on business in the Dominion
of New Zealand, and that the office of the company, where
legal process of any kind may be addressed or delivered,
is situated at Number 40 Albert Street, City of Auckland
aforesaid.

thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

RESOLUTION.

THE following resolution was laid before the members
of the Waipa Racing Club at a meeting held on the
11th day of November, 1916, at Te Awamutu, with a recom-
mendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. James H. Elliott,
that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval
by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, sec-
tion 33.
Mr. James H. Elliott, the Chairman of the Club and the
meeting, moved, and Mr. Alex. Young seconded, and it was
resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that
the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication
thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:-

WAIPA RACING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Waipa
Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act
(hereinafter referred to as "the said club"), doth hereby make
the following regulations controlling the admission of persons
to their property situated at Te Awamutu, set apart for
racing purposes, and known as Te Awamutu Racecourse,
while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club
for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "racing
    club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.
  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
    from the said property while the same is used or occupied by
    the said club for a race meeting, namely :-
    (a.) Bookmakers.
    (b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
    racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
    Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated
    with the New Zealand Racing Conference.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
sort with thieves or with persons who have no
lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Waipa Racing Club were
made and passed by the Waipa Racing Club on the 11th day
of November, 1916, and signed by the Chairman and Secre-
tary.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the
shareholders in the Manuherikia Gold-dredging Com-
pany (Limited), in Liquidation, will be held in my office,
21 Crawford Street, Dunedin, on Tuesday, the 9th day of
January, 1917, at 3.30 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of having
an account laid before them showing the manner in which the
winding-up of the company has been conducted and the assets
of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation
that may be given by me as Liquidator, and also of determining
by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books,
accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator
shall be disposed of.

Advertisement of Cancelling.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly
Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly
Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated the
6th day of December, 1916, cancelled the registry of the
Gisborne Rebokah Lodge, No. 8, Branch of the Independent
Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, Register No. 146,
held at Gisborne.

AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL.

COPY OF RESOLUTION PASSED AT A MEETING OF THE AWAKINO
COUNTY COUNCIL HELD AT PIOPIO ON SATURDAY, THE 16TH
SEPTEMBER, 1916, RESOLVING THAT A JOINT SPECIAL LOAN
OF £10,000 BE RAISED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE WAITOMO
COUNTY COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Awakino County Council has taken all
the steps defined in sections eight to twelve of the
Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and thereby received the
authority to raise a special loan of £5,440 in the Mangaotaki
Special-rating Area: And whereas the Waitomo County
Council has received similar authority in the Waitomo County
to raise a special loan of £4,560 :
Now, therefore, it is resolved, in accordance with section 57
of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, that the Awakino
County Council raise a joint special loan of ten thousand
pounds in conjunction with the Waitomo County Council, and
that the Waitomo County Council be appointed agent for
both local authorities for all purposes in relation to the loan.
