SCHEDULE.
No. License to take or kill Game (Deer).
, of , having this day paid the sum of £4 4s., is hereby authorized to take or kill two deer (stags), of not less than ten points, within the Southland Acclimatization District, exclusive of all sanctuaries, from the day of , 1917, to the day of , 1917 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regulations thereunder in force within the said district.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Wairoa.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in that part of the Rotorua Acclimatization District comprised in the part of the County of Wairoa (excluding therefrom the Mahia Peninsula) which is in the said acclimatization district, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS.

RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned part of the Rotorua Acclimatization District from the 26th March, 1917, to the 26th April, 1917 (both days inclusive).

Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Postmistress at Waikaremoana, on payment of a license fee of £3, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations. The number of such licenses shall not exceed nine; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

No licensee shall take or kill more than two stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points.

Each licensee must give notice to the said Postmistress of the date on which it is his intention to stalk, such notice to be given two clear days before commencing to stalk.

No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Regulations as to deer “tags,” per New Zealand Gazette No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, page 1408, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the Postmistress at Waikaremoana immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with the advice of number of deer shot.

Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

Polling-places for Hawke’s Bay Electoral District appointed.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Legislature Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish all existing polling-places in the Electoral District of Hawke’s Bay, and do hereby appoint the places mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be polling-places for the said Electoral District of Hawke’s Bay.

Amending Regulations for the Conservation and Use of the Rotorua Sanatorium, Thermal Springs, and Grounds.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-twenty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do by this notification revoke the fees for games contained in the Regulations for the Conservation and Use of the Rotorua Sanatorium, Thermal Springs, and Grounds, made on the twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and do hereby substitute the following in lieu thereof, to come into operation on the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, viz.:
The charges for players’ tickets shall be—
For Bowls: 9d. per player for each game, including playing-material, except shoes; commutation ticket for twelve games, 7s. 6d.; season ticket, 30s.; annual ticket, available from first day of any month, 40s.
