NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purpose of a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914, the following land, namely: All that piece of land situated in the Onewhero Survey District, containing 1 acre, more or less, and being part of Allotment 45 of the Parish of Onewhero.
A plan of the said land is deposited at the post-office at Pukekawa, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.
All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the erection of a public school or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland, at its office, Williamson’s Chambers, in Shortland Street, in the City of Auckland.

CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Castlepoint County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorized to be raised by the Castlepoint County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing road machinery, including stone-crusher and road-roller, the said Castlepoint County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four thirty-seventh parts of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Castlepoint County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of four years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Castlepoint County was affixed hereto this first day of December, 1917, in the presence of—
