Drawing any document or form required in proceedings where no form has been prescribed: Not exceeding two folios, 2s.; every additional folio, 1s.

Service of any summons, process, or notice not otherwise provided for, unless served by the parties, within two miles, 2s.

Mileage for service of any summons, process, or notice, unless served by the parties, or execution of any warrant: For the first eight miles (beyond two miles) from the Courthouse or police-station from which service is to be effected, 1s. per mile, and for each additional mile 6d. per mile, to the residence of the party or the place where the service or execution takes place; or such sum as may be fixed by the Magistrate in any exceptional case.

For each man left by the Bailiff in possession on any premises when necessary, 10s. a day or portion of a day.

For storage, carriage, or removal of goods, or advertising same for sale, amount actually and reasonably paid.

Commission on sale by auctioneer or Bailiff, 5 per centum.

Statute Law Amendment Act, 1917.—Amendments to Regulations for the Payment of Teachers and Staffing of Schools and making Regulations for Supplementary Grants to School Committees for Incidental Expenses.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this tenth day of December, 1917.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section eight of the Statute Law Amendment Act, 1917, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the regulations hereinafter set forth modifying the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, to meet conditions arising out of the present war, respecting—

I. (a.) The appointment, payment, transfer, and removal of temporary teachers in public and Native schools, and the conditions on which such teachers may become contributors to the Teachers’ Superannuation Fund;

(b.) The appointment of teachers who may be members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force; and

(c.) The staffing of public and Native schools, and the adjustment of the salaries payable to teachers and others employed in such schools:

II. The provision of grants to School Committees for incidental expenses.

And, with the like advice and consent, doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
