NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Southland Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Pastoral Lands classified in Southland Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Commissioners appointed to classify and report upon rural lands in Southland Land District have classified the pastoral runs in the Schedule hereto as therein noted, and the classification has been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General under section 225 of the Land Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Class A.—Pastoral Lands.

Being Lands suitable exclusively for Pasturage and not capable of being used with Profit in Areas of a Carrying-capacity of less than 5,000 Sheep.

Run 525, Hokonui District: Area, 8,153 acres; Crown land.
Runs 1, 2A, 3, 4, and 7, Coneburn, Mid-Wakatipu, South Wakatipu, and Eyre Districts: Area, 32,350 acres; national endowment.
Run 154A, Taringatura District: Area, 1,008 acres; Bluff Harbour Board endowment.
Run 424, New River Hundred: Area, 2,410 acres; Crown land.

Pastoral Run in Marlborough Land District for License by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run will be offered for license by public auction at this office at 11 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, 19th December, 1917, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amendments.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—MARLBOROUGH COUNTY.

Class A.

Run No. 121 (Kekerangu): Area, 52,000 acres; term, fourteen years; upset annual rental, £300.

Situated about twenty-five miles from the Kekerangu Post-office, having access by a pack-track, four miles of which is a formed dray-road. The altitude ranges from 1,000 ft. to 9,400 ft. About a third of the run is limestone hills carrying tussock, a third is mixed land which might be termed second and third class with small patches of scrub, and the balance is high barren country; there is some good agricultural land at the Bluff which has been cultivated. The run is capable of considerable improvement. Rabbits are rather numerous in parts. The improvements which go with the run consist of three cob whares with iron roofs, situated at the Bluff, plantations and orchard, sheep yards and dip, and about eleven miles and a half of fencing, valued at £1,050.
