THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Thames County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £5,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Thames taken on the 14th day of November, 1917, on the proposal of the Thames County Council to borrow the sum of £5,000 required for the purchase of a road roller and grader (£1,500), motor lorry (£1,000), automatic drill (£150), appliances and machinery (£200), and construction of a tramway at the Kauaeranga Quarry (£1,750), and the erection of a metal-hopper near the booms in the Kauaeranga River (£400), the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 663, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 299.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

MANGONUI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers in the special-rating area, being portion of the Kaitaia Riding of the Mangonui County, taken on the 21st day of November, 1917, on the proposal of the Mangonui County Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 to form main street and footpaths in Kaitaia Township, by forming the road, and footpaths on both sides thereof, from the Courthouse Road to 1½ chains past the junction of the Herekino–Kaitaia Road, and to form road and footpath from there to Waikuku Bridge (footpath on right-hand side), the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 46, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

OPUNAKE TOWN DISTRICT.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Town of Opunake was taken on the 6th day of November, 1917, on the proposal of the Opunake Town Board to borrow the sum of £7,000 for electric lighting.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 108, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 6.
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

EGMONT COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Egmont was taken on the 14th day of November, 1917, on the proposal of the Egmont County Council to borrow the sum of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000) for the purpose of re-erecting in reinforced concrete the whole of the bridges and culverts (as the case may require) as enumerated in the Schedule hereunder.
SCHEDULE.
Rahotu Riding.
Main South Road – Waitapuae, Matanehunehu, Wairongomai, Branch of Mangaone, Waitekaure, Otahi, Waitotoroa, Puhina, Waitaha, Rautini, Pungaraereere, Okahu, Maungahoki, Moutoti, Oaoiti, small stream south of Oaoiti.
Opua Riding.
Main South Road – Heimama, Otahi, Mangahume, Taungatara ; Eltham Road – Mangahume, and two branches ; Waiteika, Taungatara.
Oeo Riding.
Main South Road – Punehu, Ouri, Oeo ; Eltham Road – Punehu ; Kiri Road – three small streams (unnamed) ; Oeo Road – Ouri, and small stream (unnamed) ; Opunake – Stratford Road – Ouri Bridge.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 465, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 213.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Rescinding Prohibition of Delivery of Postal Packets, &c., to W. Whitta and W. Casey.
THE Postmaster-General hereby rescinds the order made on the 7th day of August, 1914, forbidding the issue of money-orders and the transmission of correspondence for the persons whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder, and orders that such money-orders shall be issued and that such postal packets shall be registered, forwarded, and delivered in the usual course.

Regulation 4. All ruminants imported into the United States from any part of the world except North America shall be accompanied by a certificate from the local authority of the district in which the said animals have been continuously located for six months next preceding the date of shipment, stating that no tuberculosis has existed on the premises, and
