ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE JAMES ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, as extended by section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council prohibit the importation into New Zealand of any goods the prohibition of the importation of which is in his opinion necessary in the public interest:

And whereas by Order in Council made and gazetted on the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and amended by further Order in Council made on the sixth and gazetted on the ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, the importation of soap manufactured in or exported from any place other than the United Kingdom or a British possession or France was prohibited save with the consent of the Minister of Customs:

And whereas it is deemed advisable to further amend the said Order in Council of the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the aforesaid Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby further amend the aforesaid Order in Council of the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, as amended by the aforesaid Order in Council of the sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, by adding thereto, after the words “or France,” the words “or Italy or Japan.”

Licensing Francis Dye, of Kaukapakapa, to occupy a Portion of the Land between High- and Low-water Marks at Kaukapakapa, Kaipara Harbour, and to reclaim such Land.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-third day of January, 1917.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE JAMES ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is enacted by section thirty-nine of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), that in the case of lands between high- and low-water marks which belong to the Crown, and on which at high-water spring tides the depth of water is not sufficient for purposes of navigation, the Governor in Council may grant occupation licenses for periods not exceeding twenty-one years, at such rent and on such conditions as he thinks fit, and any such lease may contain a provision authorizing the lessee to reclaim the land the subject of the lease without complying with the requirements of section forty-one of the said Act:

And whereas it is desirable to license Francis Dye, of Kaukapakapa, to occupy a part of the land between high- and low-water marks belonging to the Crown at Kaukapakapa, Kaipara Harbour, on which at high-water spring tides the depth of water is not sufficient for purposes of navigation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and acting by and
