Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Oturahua Domain.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of January, 1917.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE JAMES ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain:

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the eighteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Oturahua Domain:

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the seventeenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen:

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

WILLIAM GODFRED BECKER,
LLEWELLYN HAYES,
OSCAR JOHN BROWN,
DONALD NICOLSON, and
JOHN NICOLSON

to be the Oturahua Domain Board, having the control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Town Hall, Oturahua, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

OTUREHUA DOMAIN, MANIOTOTO COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 0 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Section No. 289, Block I, Blackstone Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a road-line, 860 links; towards the south-east by a road-line, 804·6 links; towards the south-west by part of Small Grazing-run No. 225r, 1050 links; and towards the north-west by Ida Burn, 600 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 5598/11, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

JOHN ROBERT BLAND,
CHARLES JOHN CLAYTON,
ANDREW SIM, and
JOHN MOWBRAY HOWARD TRIPP

to be the Scotsburn Domain Board, having the control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-second day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, at half past two o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the residence of Mr. Bland, Peel Forest, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

SCOTSBURN DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being Reserve 1554 (in red), Block III, Orari Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a road-line, 2850 links; thence towards the south-east by Rural Section 19332, 3519 links; thence towards the west by a road-line, 4529 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1253, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Reserve 1475, situated in Block IV, Orari Survey District, and bounded as follows: On the north-east by a public road, 1446 links; on the south by Section 29010, 1084 links; and on the west by a public road, 960 links.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Reserve 2276, situated in Block III, Orari Survey District, and bounded as follows: On the north by Section 30851, 413·3 links; on the north-east, east, and south by a public road, 185·5 links, 787 links, and 560 links respectively; and on the west by Section 30851, 900 links.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood 28 perches, more or less, being part of Reserve 1803, situated in Block IV, Orari Survey District, and bounded as follows: On the north by a public road, 450 links; on the east by Section 29008, 1350·5 links; on the south-west by a public road, 536·1 links; and on the west by other part of Reserve 1803, 1060·1 links.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are delineated on the plans marked L. and S. 1/267, 1/267A, and 1/267B respectively, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Extending Prohibition of Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-third day of January, 1917.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE JAMES ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, and by section one hundred and eleven of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 (as amended by section eight of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916), His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of twelve months the Order in Council made and gazetted the sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, which Order in Council
