His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, and transfers of the undermentioned officers on active service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force (vide List No. 43, N.Z. Expeditionary Force Orders).

COMMANDS AND STAFF.

Captain A. L. Newnham, M.C., Middlesex Regiment, to be General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, N.Z. Division. Dated 26th May, 1917.

Major A. C. Temperley, D.S.O., Norfolk Regiment, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 30th May, 1917.

CANTERBURY MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) F. L. Hindley is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst in charge of the New Zealand Section, 3rd Echelon, B.E.F. Dated 16th May, 1917.

OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant E. A. Scott is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst employed as Second in Command of the Squadron, vice Captain R. F. Mitchell, on duty in England. from 1st January, 1917, to 30th April, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND FIELD ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant W. R. Grace, discharged in England on account of ill health contracted on active service, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 29th May, 1917.

2nd Lieutenant H. E. Standring is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant whilst commanding a medium trench mortar battery. Dated 17th May, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS.

Field Companies.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) J. J. Moore relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, N.Z.E. Reserve Depot, and the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 23rd May, 1917.
