OROUA DRAINAGE BOARD.
ELECTION OF TRUSTEES.
PURSUANT to section 10 of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that on the day appointed for the nomination of candidates for the election of seven Trustees for the Oroua Drainage District, the following persons were nominated :—
Duke, Arthur William.
Gardner, Edward.
Gloyn, John.
Hopping, Wilson.
Knight, Norman Haliday.
Osborne, William.
Ransom, Harold John.
Robinson, James.
I also give notice that NORMAN HALIDAY KNIGHT has retired from the election. As by such retirement the number of candidates is reduced to the number of vacancies to be filled, I declare the said Arthur William Duke, Edward Gardner, John Gloyn, Wilson Hopping, William Osborne, Harold John Ransom, and James Robinson to be duly elected Trustees for the Oroua Drainage District.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Opunake Racing Club at a meeting held on the twentieth day of September, 1917, at Opunake, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. Alan Good, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. A. Good, the Chairman of the Club and of the Meeting, moved, and Mr. G. Newsham seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to :—
OPUNAKE RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Opunake Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Opunake Racing Club’s property, being part Sections 63, 64, Block I, Oeo Survey District, situate in the district of Egmont, and known as the Pihama Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings, namely :—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
The foregoing regulations of the Opunake Racing Club were made and passed by the Opunake Racing Club on the 20th day of September, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Manawatu Hunt Club at a meeting held on the 13th day of October, 1917, at Palmerston North, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. S. R. Lancaster, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. S. R. Lancaster, the Chairman of the Club and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. A. Baker seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Manawatu Hunt Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse reserve situate in the District of Palmerston North, and known as the Awapuni Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meaning ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely :—

NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook County Council has resolved that this Council hereby adopts the provisions of Part II of the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, and that all motors in use in the Cook County shall be registered. This resolution shall come into force on the 20th November, 1917.
