Purchase of Sheep-skins by the Government.
WHEREAS for the purposes of the war it is necessary that His Majesty’s Government of the United Kingdom should acquire supplies of sheep-skins from New Zealand: And whereas by Orders in Council of the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and the eighteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, the export of sheep-skins, pelts, and wool to any destination has been prohibited: And whereas arrangements have been made whereby the Government of New Zealand will acquire on behalf of His Majesty’s said Government the supplies of sheep-skins so required:
Now, therefore, it is hereby notified as follows for the information of the public and of all persons concerned:—

The New Zealand Government (hereinafter referred to as the Government) is prepared to purchase sheep-skins for and on behalf of His Majesty’s Government of the United Kingdom on the terms and conditions and in accordance with the scheme hereinafter set forth.

The persons named in the First Schedule hereto, and hereinafter referred to as Government brokers, will act as the agents both of the Government and of the sellers in the purchase of sheep-skins by the Government in accordance with the following provisions.
